SPOTLIGHT ON BUSINESS According to the Of- fice of Management and Budget, one out of every six dollars spent by the Federal government goes to contractors. Govern- ment procurement offers business own- ers the opportunity to add tremendous value to their busi- nesses. However, adding that kind of value re- quires significant effort. Navigating the tumultu- ous waters of government contracting can be a daunting task. To be successful, contractors must have a sound working knowledge of the govern- ment contracting rules and regulations that they must comply with. Woodbridge, VA, based law firm, Fluet Huber + Hoang, is a leader in advising and training cli- ents on government contract compliance. FH+H has released a 100 page Brown Paper, "The Big Book of Government Contractor Compliance." The "Big Book" collects and summarizes all of the major compliance regulations and statutes ap- plicable to Government Contractors and outlines industry practices. There are thousands of laws, regulations, restrictions and statues that are used to govern Government Contractors, and penalties for wrongdoing, or even for negligent non-compli- ance, can include fines and imprisonment, as well as debarment from obtaining Federal contracts for up to three years. Our hope in creating this book is for you to have a place you can turn to for quick and reliable guidance to help you understand the basic rules and identify areas of potential risk. For every area of compliance, the Big Book outlines who the laws and regulations apply to; a summary of the compliance requirements, key statutes and regulations, enforcement agencies, potential penalties; and industry best practices. Designed as a valuable reference for every Gov- ernment Contractor, the "Big Book" is available as a downloadable publication to all FH+H cli- ents and contacts via their website - http://www. fluetlaw.com/publications Follow Fluet Huber + Hoang on Facebook, www.facebook.com/fluethuberhoang, and Twit- ter, @Fluetlaw. www.pwchamber.org Prince William Chamber of Commerce Visibility, advertising and credibility-The Chamber’s Business Resource Guide is published once a year and is full of valuable information about our community.
