As I write, we have just come to the end of our most successful ever pantomime season, with our production of ‘Cinderella’ smashing all box office records. The Princes Hall is now established as one of the country’s leading pantomime venues, and I would encourage anyone who has never experienced one of our productions to give it a try, and see what makes us so special. Next Christmas’ offering, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, is already on sale, (see page 17 for details), and it’s never too early to book! Once again, we have a strong season of professional shows on offer, with comedy playing a key part. Dave Gorman, Stuart Francis, Sean Lock, Russell Howard, Rich Hall, Jimmy Carr, Brian Conley, Lee Nelson and Russell Kane, are all household names who we are proud to be able to bring to Aldershot.
You may have read in the local press recently about proposed improvements to the fabric of the Princes Hall building. We are conscious that the exterior of the venue in particular is looking tired and, whilst specific plans have
not been agreed at this stage, we are hopeful that we will be in a position to agree any improvements in the not too distant future.
The continuing success of the Princes Hall is testament to the hard work of the tremendous team of staff we have at the venue. I regularly receive comments about the friendliness and helpfulness of our team, and I believe that this has been the key to our success over recent years. The goodwill of the staff is paramount to the success of any theatre, and that is certainly the case here, with staff often called upon to work long and unsocial hours. They deserve huge credit for their enthusiasm and commitment.
Many thanks for continuing to support your local theatre. If you have any suggestions as to how we may improve our service, then please feel free to telephone me on my direct line, 01252 398570.
Enjoy the season!
Welcome to our new ‘What’s On’ guide, giving details of a whole new season of events at the Princes Hall.
