Before and After School Safety Please do not allow your child to ride bikes or scooters into the school grounds as it is dangerous. Oasis 9 Habits
This month we are thinking about: Who we are and what we are becoming.
Building Works Update As you may have noticed we have had some delays with the building works—thank you to all families for your patience. Over half-term there will be some significant progress. Ms Elliott’s room and the back of-fice will be moving into room 6 (just right of the main entrance) while we wait for our new rooms to be built. A member of office staff will remain at the front desk at all times.
Black History Month and Harvest October is Black History month and the chil-dren have been learning about black scien-tist and inventors. We will be sharing the learning they have done in an assembly on Tuesday the 29th. We celebrated harvest festival on Tuesday this week—each phase learnt a harvest song and the whole school sang “Harvest Samba” which is Ms Elliott’s favourites. A huge thank you for all of the donations—these will be taken by Mrs Mur-
phy to the food bank.
Shakespeare Schools Festi-val We are pleased to announce that Oasis Academy Pinewood is part of this amazing drama festival again this year. “Shakespeare club” will be performing Mid-summer Night’s Dream on the 7th of Novem-ber at the Broadway Theatre
Homework
Please do ensure that the children are read-ing regularly. At Oasis Academy Pinewood we expect the children to read five times per week. Each phase has its own homework expectations, please ensure children are completing this each week to help them suc-ceed at school (and collect the Dojo points they need for their weekly reward!).
Online safety
We have recently had a number of online safety issues with the app called Tik Tok. Please see this link on advice for how to keep your child safe when using it
