PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Dear families,
It has been great that we have been able to run our Swimming and
Water Safety program at Riverside pool for the last two weeks.
Thanks to all staff involved in preparing for the program, teaching the
students and supporting them to travel safely to and from the pool. A
big thanks also goes to families – I very clearly remember drying and
repacking swimming clothes each evening during swimming program,
for my own children!
As you are no doubt aware, classes are very busy organising
excursions. Due to the very challenging year, it was not possible for
excursions to go ahead earlier. We are now moving into the next
phase of Covid-19, so the department is encouraging schools to get
out and support local businesses. I am pleased that students will have
the opportunity to have learning experiences, outside the classroom.
Keep an eye out for upcoming information.
Don’t forget that next Thursday, 29th October will be our Book
Week Dress Up Day. I am looking forward to seeing all the great ideas
everyone comes up with – I have mine organised!
Kind regards
Jerome

Review into Reporting to Families Survey
More information
Review into Reporting to Families webpage.
Unfortunately due to the Glen Dhu Pool being
unavailable for term 4, we will not be able to hold a
Grade 1/2 Water Orientation program this year or a
Grade 3/4 Swimming Carnival. We are hopeful of these
events being able to be held in 2021.
CONVERSATIONS WITH KIDS
Great Start—Early Years Education
Conversations with kids can be funny…..or
frustrating….or both.
We are developing a new campaign about
communication and the role families play.
We want to know more about how Tasmanian families
communicate with each other.
Can you spare us 10 minutes to fill in a survey and
share what happens in your house?

PARKING
A reminder to parents and guardians to park legally
when dropping off and collecting children from school.
Please do not use the Disabled Parking spaces unless
you have a permit, or stop at crossings to pick up
children. Thank you for your cooperation.
