The teachers were very pleased to resume face-to-face teaching and enjoyed seeing their students’ smiling faces as they returned to school. I would like to thank all of our parents/ carers for following our ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ procedures. Your cooperation has certainly assisted us in ensuring a smooth transition for our students returning to school. I would also like to thank the teaching and administration staff of Bligh Park Public School for their fantastic work over the past few months. Seesaw and Google classroom Please be aware that Seesaw and Google classroom activities have ceased. Stage 2 and Stage 3 classes will continue to use Google classroom as part of their learning program. We ask that parents/carers now follow the usual procedures that took place prior to the COVID-19 restrictions, when contacting the school. Parents are able to contact the school on 4572 7067 or email [email protected]. Please do not contact teachers via Seesaw or messages on Google classroom, as teachers will no longer be checking these forms of communication. Your cooperation with these procedures is greatly appreciated and we will also ensure that you receive a response from the school. The ability of staff to adapt so quickly in providing online learning and going ‘above and beyond’ for our students has been extremely pleasing to witness and to be a part of. To our wonderful school community, thank you for your efforts and support during the last few months. The staff of Bligh Park Public School greatly appreciate the efforts you have gone to in supporting students with their online learning activities. The many emails and phone calls expressing your appreciation for the home learning support provided to students has been greatly appreciated along with the yummy morning teas. There will be some school routines and processes that will be slightly different over the coming weeks but I will ensure that you are informed as we move forward. We ask that students bring a drink bottle filled with water when they attend school.

It was wonderful to welcome all our students back to school on Monday 25 May. The teachers were very pleased to resume face-to-face teaching and enjoyed seeing their students’ smiling faces as they returned to school. I would like to thank all of our parents/carers for following our ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ procedures. I would also like to thank the teaching and administration staff of Bligh Park Public School for their fantastic work over the past few months.

If you would like to have your child considered for the Year 5 opportunity class entry in 2021, you need to apply soon. You will need to apply on the internet using a valid email address (not the student’s email address).

Semester 1 student reports Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, New South Wales public schools will be providing parents/carers with a simplified report template for Semester 1 reports. This simplified version does not contain the usual grading system used in previous reports. The temporary removal of the usual grading system is a decision of the Department of Education and not individual schools.

Semester 1 student reports will be sent home to families on Tuesday 30 June.

I wish everyone a safe two weeks ahead.

Take care

Joan Westerweller
