The software used during the training is just for training purposes. You are not supposed to forward this software to the customer.

The software for the customer has to be downloaded on the official way.

Login

1. Start your Internet Explorer.

2. Type in the URL of your Prinect Remote Access server.

(3). If you have not yet imported the security certificate, do this now following the steps described in the section "Import Security Certificate", page 13.

4. Type in your user name and your password and click "Login".

5. If an issue should occur during the login, you can use "System Diagnostics" to have Prinect Remote Access check your local system configuration and provide you with assistance in reme-dying the issue (example: Information about the Java version needed).

This is what the startup page of Prinect Remote Access looks like.

Upload 1. Open the job to which you want to upload pages.

Generally, your job displays on the startup page. Click the job number or job name to open the job.

If you cannot see your job on the startup page, click "Job List" below "Job" and open your job from the job list.

2. Click the "Upload files" button.

The Upload dialog displays.

You will see your contact listed in "Recipient(s)".

3. Drag your job data to "File(s)".

By default, the job number appears in "Subject". You can overwrite this with your own text.

4. Click the "Upload" button. The Upload dialog closes automatically when you do this.

Preflight Report You can view the upload that is just finished in the upload list of your open job.

During uploading, a Preflight was automatically performed. Click the symbol in the "Preflight" column to view the Preflight report.

An e-mail was sent automatically to your contact.

Approval 5. You received an email informing you that pages are waiting for your approval.

Open the email.

6. Click the link.

The Prinect Remote Access WEB UI appears.

Generally, the production shop sets by default that the Job dialog opens on the "Pages/Page Appro-vals" tab. This tab shows you the pages that are to be approved.

In all the dialogs that the WEB User Interface shows, you will see a query at the lower part of the screen, asking you whether you wish to open or save the pages.

7. Click "Open" or "Save".

• "Open": The file is not saved on your computer but only opened for processing.

• "Save": The file is saved on your computer and opened for processing.

At this point, the documentation gives you the following choices:

• If you wish to approve TIFF data, continue with the text in the next section.

• If you wish to approve PDF data, continue with the section "PDF Page Approval", page 11.

TIFF Data Approval

The Pixel Proof Viewer launches automatically and all the pages to be approved open.

8. Click "Approval".

The "Approval" dialog displays. This is where you can select whether you wish to approve page by page or all pages at one go.

9. In our example, we will approve page by page and that is why we will select "Approve double page". You can approve each page of the double page separately or both at once. "Both" is set by default, and we will use it for this example.

10. Click "OK + Next". Your pages are then approved and after that the next pages for approval dis-play automatically.

11. Approve all the pages in this way.

12. Click "OK + Close" when you are at the last (double) page. The Pixel Proof Viewer then closes.

PDF Page Approval

Acrobat opens and displays all the pages and the Acceptance form (see graphic below).

13. We accept all pages. To do this, click "All" in the green section in the Acceptance form.

14. Click "Send" to start the approval procedure. If necessary confirm the alert messages.

15. Confirm the Acrobat message telling you that the pages were successfully approved with "OK".

Logout from the Prinect Remote Access User Inter-face

An email informed your Customer Sales Representative of the approval. This person will now conti-nue processing the job until another possible approval (e.g. layout approval) is needed or will finish it.

1. Click "Logout user name" in the menu.

The Logout dialog opens.

2. Close Internet Explorer.

(3). You return to the Login dialog when you click "Goto login".

Appendix

Import Security Certificate

The "Security Alert" dialog always displays if you have not yet imported the security certificate. You must confirm this.

Perform the following steps once when you log in for the first time.

1. View the certificate.

2. Select "Heidelberg Prinect Remote Access" for the certification path and install the certificate.

After installation, you can launch the WEB site of Prinect Remote Access without having to confirm the alert message every time.
