After several stages of development, we are ready to publically announce to the public, the Pro-Lite Modena Full Carbon Time Trial Frame.

What better way to take advantage of wind tunnel testing than to use full carbon for ultimate control in design? Note some of the late-model aerodynamic choices such as contoured headtube and tuned lower line on the downtube. Extraordinary rigidity and power transfer is also accomplished with the high BB area molding.

No doubt this will yield a new legacy of podium finishes as more and more riders get set up with a bike made by racers for racers.

Liguria - Full Carbon Monocoque Fork

By now, most people are familiar with the benefits of tapered headtubes, but one of the biggest improvements brought by the new standard is actually not the tube itself, but rather in the fork. A broader set of shoulders is always a good display of power, but with the Liguria, the strength also lies out of sight. The flared tubing also eases the angle where it mates to the crown – an critical area for resistance to stresses.

This attention to strength follows through at the dropouts. Forged dropouts are great and second to none for longevity, but doing away with the bonded area, with the monocoque molded carbon dropouts adds strength and reliability with no wasted weight.

*The Liguria is compatible with all 1 1/8” – 1 1/2" taper tubes as well as our new Grand Prix edition frames.

Ravenna

Building on the work we have done to develop the Cervia aero bar we decided to create the Ravenna super light bar. Only 195 grammes for a 40cm c-c bar (with integrated cable routing). There was to be no compromise with this bar and as a rider who knows what its like to hit the floor with a broken handlebar, the design team knew full well that Steve (Pro-Lite CEO) would accept nothing less than extreme testing on an item that is vulnerable to extreme loads. Once the initial tests were finished and we knew the bar was more than capable of handling what a rider can throw at it, it was back to the drawing board as Steve then told us to make it stronger. Brand new for 2010, the Clean Grip tape is a fantastic innovation for any rider who maintains his own bike or anyone who understands the value of keeping things neat, clean and comfortable.

This new bar tape has a tacky backing that doesn't melt and turn into slime like those of years past. It keeps the tape firmly in place even when drenched with sweat. When it comes time to rebind, the tape can be removed, cleaned and re-applied.

One of the more unusual wheels in our lineup is the Verona. The asymmetrical hub is more than it might appear though, directly addressing the imbalance inherent in every dished wheel. While more dish can give better lateral strength that helps when hammering out of the saddle, increasing the offset also decreases the tension, making the wheel more susceptible to fatigue and eventual failure.Building a large flange on the non-drive side allows a higher tension to be used, compensating for the imbalance introduced by the need for space for a cassette.

Rosa - Full Alloy Track Wheel

When we decided to produce the Rosa, we had one aim in mind. A true track wheel has to withstand a huge amount of fatigue and yet must remain true and responsive at all times. First of all, the spokes are forged from the finest Swedish stainless steel and CNC machined to ensure the threads are precisely correct. The nipples are CNC machined so that when the wheel is built, the angle between the spoke and nipple is negligible for when the tension is applied during building. This was addressed specifically to address a widespread trend in the market where many wheels can be seen where the nipple/spoke angle exceeds 5 degrees - which leads to uneven loading and premature failure. Pro-Lite tolerance is 2 degrees max. The hubs are CNC machined and fitted with top quality EZO bearings with super-low rolling resistance. During the Copenhagen 6-day race recently, riders using the Pro-Lite track wheel commented on how smooth the wheels ran and how noticeable it was to feel the acceleration when using them. These riders mentioned how much they could feel a difference using Pro-Lite precision built Rosa wheels.

Each wheel is carefully hand-built to extremely precise tolerances. Each spoke is tension checked at least six times during building before being de-tensioned twice in preparation for the final truing.

For all owners of Pro-Lite wheels with carbon clincher rims.Your rims are moulded with our unique patented basalt braking surface. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basalt_fiber) On all Pro-Lite carbon rims, use only our specific pad produced specifically for these rims. Don't let people tell you that they use other pads without problems. Carbon rims might look the same but they are very different from standard braking surfaces. Saving a small amount of money on pads could wreck your rims.We do NOT recommend Campagnolo brake pads which are for a different system and have a very low melting point. They could melt excessively under heavy braking, leaving a residue on the rim that can impair braking ability and is very difficult to clean.For optimal performance, Pro-Lite carbon brake pads provide the ideal balance of stopping power and brake feel. More importantly, they keep the rims cool enough to prevent damage during braking.We have found in real-world testing that even after 1000 kilometers of riding mountain roads and hard braking, the pads held up well with only moderate wear, and performed very well in all conditions.Pro-Lite brake pads are the only pads specific to all our rims. We cannot be responsible for the effects of using pads from other manufacturers on our rims.

NOTE: For Cyclo Cross applications and cantilever brakes, we recommend using Kool-Stop black pads on our alloy-carbon rims.
