PROCESS CONTROL
M.E. B a k e r Co. designs and builds engineered systems for the finishing of a variety of prod- ucts in many industries, includ- ing aerospace, automotive, elec- tronics, medical devices, as well as a host of other applications worldwide. The company pro- vides state-of-the-art process controls and line technologies available as integral elements of its engineered systems, or as stand-alone units for new instal- lations and retrofits. Windows- based software package designed specifically for dynamically scheduled operations in the fin- ishing and plating market is standard. For information, call 617-547-5460. BLASTING MACHINE Viking Blast & Wash Sys tems has introduced an improved Spinner Hanger, the SH 2560, which provides versatility in blasting a wide range of part sizes and shapes on a continuous basis. The SH 2560 features 15-hp VC- 1, 3,525-rpm, direct-drive blast wheels, and removes scale, corro- sion, rust, and paint by indexing
three 25- x 60-in. work envelopes, exposing the parts to the two blast wheels. An adjustable con- trol cage in the wheel allows for control of the abrasive pattern, achieving the highest percentage of shot impact on the work. For information, call 800-835-1096. Circle 402 on reader service card
POWDER THICKNESS GAUGE
Elcometer's 550 MKII uncured powder thickness gauge uses a non- contact measurement technique to accurately predict the cured thick- ness of a powder coating applied to most substrates. It includes aver- age reading display and preset lim- its with alarm for both high and
low coating thicknesses. The gauge is hand-held, portable, and can be used on the powder coating line immediately next to the spray booth. For information, visit www. elcometer.com Circle 403 on reader service card

Sherwin-Will iams' KEM ACRYL HS 100 enamel is a high-solids, low-VOC, air-dry acrylic emamel, enabling improved production out- put for industrial finishers. The full-gloss coating has faster through-dry than tradtional high- solids, air-dry enamels, offering a solution for finishers seeking pro- duction efficiency. With good one- coat protection and performance, it also reduces passes in multiple- pass operations. The enamel dries to touch in 15 to 30 minutes and can be handled in one to two hours. EXPLOSION-PROOF ROBOT KUKA Robotics Corp.'s KUKA KR 16 EX robot is designed for use in potentially explosive envi- ronments, such as paint rooms, where fine gases, dust, or vapors are present and pose a potential explosion risk. The robot, which is EEx certified for explosion protec- tion, is pressurized and sealed, making it virtually explosion proof so it can be used in these inhospitable environments.
