Process for idea of poster 2

Background to the idea…Here is a poster I used when thinking about continuity and designs.

This here is Kanye West’s graduation album poster.

On all three component (poster/advert, digi-pak and music video you can tell without seeing the writing who the components belonged to.

I wanted to achieve the same idea with all my designs and ideas.

Kanye west used the same brown bear and same fonts on all three components.

This image is an enlarged and cropped version of the CD cover as it still has the same background and design.

A first idea…

Here is the parchment which I have used on other ideas which I have produced throughout this coursework.

The idea I had for this was to combine two different war related elements. The idea behind the parchment was to make the poster look like the old fashioned ration books, used in the war time.

The other element I wanted to use with this is on the next slide…

Moving on…

This was the other element I wanted to incorporate into the poster. A poppy is the single

most well known item to remember the soldiers of the

world wars.

After editing each photo by cropping them, removing the background and boosting the colour…

I came up with this final idea…

The final product…

Although this was a basic idea, I enjoyed creating it as it was simple, effective and got the message across.

The use of the poppy really gave a strong connection to the army and armed forces.

By using the title of the band and song in each corner it was easy to see them, but at the same time didn’t take away from the symbol of remembrance, which is the theme I wanted to carry with this idea.
