Implementing its integration strategy, ACICO Industries Company diversified into the construction sector through the grade ‘’1’’ ACICO Construction as classified by CTC in Kuwait. ACICO Construction has carried out a range of conventional construction projects across the GCC, in addition to being the sole contractor of the wall load bearing building system, better known as ‘’ACICO Building System’’. Due to their industrial success, they started manufacturing cement as part of ACICO’s self- sufficiency policy. This value chain assures the timely supply of raw material for ACICO manufacturing operations and projects which in turn decreases the risk factors associated with manufacturing. ACICO Cement is one of the only cement producers in the state of Kuwait. In addition, ACICO Cement has set up dry and wet ready mix concrete production lines to satisfy the growing demand of the local market. Forward integration into the real estate sector came as a natural move for ACICO Industries Company through its realty arm, ACICO Gulf Real Estate. This real estate arm was established to manage the growing number of properties of the group. As part of the company’s real estate investments, ACICO entered the five stars hospitality sector through the construction and development of hotels in the United Arab Emirates. ACICO Hotels entered an agreement with the Rezidor Hotel Group, mother company of the prominent 5 star brand ‘’Radisson Royal’’, to operate its two hotel constructed properties and what is now known as Radisson Royal Dubai Hotel and Radisson Blu Resort Fujairah’’. Since ACICO Industries Company’s inception in June 1990 they have steadily fulfilled their strategy, to enhance and adapt to the constantly changing nature of their clients. PRODUCT AERATED CONCRETE PRODUCTS Blocks ACICO AAC plants are located in Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. ACICO manufactures AAC blocks with the tongue and groove feature. This feature interlocks blocks, providing more stability and decreases the amount of mortar needed between the blocks. ACICO Industrial manufactures blocks, lintels and slabs with different specifications and characteristics to meet its customer’s needs. Lintels ACICO lintels are manufactured from aerated concrete and in the same process of ACICO AAC blocks. This creates a homogenous building structure that maximises the utility of aerated concrete products such as thermal insulation, light weight, level surfaces and accurate dimensions. The use of ACICO lintels with ACICO blocks significantly decreases the possibility of minor cracks that usually occur when using conventional reinforced concrete lintels with cement blocks. ACICO’s reinforced lintels are manufactured in compliance with the German code DIN4223 with galvanised steel for optimal endurance from corrosion. Contrary to the preparation of conventional reinforced concrete lintels, which require form work preparation, steel and ready mix concrete molding; ACICO lintels are produced in a controlled environment and delivered ready to construction site. 8

SlabsACICO reinforced slabs are considered one of the main structural components in today’s contemporary construction solutions. ACICO slabs are used instead of normal concrete for roofs and are the most effective and efficient roofing technology today. ACICO slabs can be applied with concrete bridges, steel beams and load bearing walls built from AAC blocks or cement blocks.Advantages of ACICO slabs are attributed to being manufactured from aerated concrete which gives it the superior thermal insulation properties, high fire resistance and light weight. ACICO slabs are most effective when used with AAC blocks due to the
homogenous nature of the material between the two structural components which also maximises thermal insulation. The light weight decreases the load on beams and columns which in turn decreases the load on concrete foundations. This leads to decreasing construction cost as less steel reinforcement is needed in the foundations.Unlike conventional concrete roofing, which requires extended periods of time between formwork and concrete pouring and drying, ACICO slabs are manufactured in a controlled environment and delivered to site ready for application. This enables a speedy construction process as the continuation of the next floor can be resumed immediately after the placement of ACICO slabs.
Dry MortarACICO dry mortar is designed and produced to provide high performance adhesiveness between each course of aerated concrete blocks vertically and horizontally. ACICO dry mortar is composed of essential raw material such as sand, cement and additives that
gives it the superior adhesive performance with aerated concrete building material. The application of ACICO Dry mortar between ACICO AAC blocks ensures maximum insulation for the whole wall. Its efficiency and strength requires applying a thin layer between blocks that does not exceed 1-2mm.
CEMENT AND CONCRETE PRODUCTSCementACICO Cement has been contributing to the construction and industrial sectors of Kuwait since 2007 as one of the only two cement producers.
