Ultra Carb System
A unique drilling, completion and workover fluid additive Used in preparation of Thixsal-Ultra Systems
Thixsal-Ultra is an additive for aqueous fluids which, when combined with soluble, sized bridging particles of sodium chloride, calcium carbonate, or oil soluble resin, generates a non-damaging fluid system which exhibits enhanced rheological properties and superior filtration control. Thixsal-Ultra is a blend of xanthan gum biopolymer with a specially processed, stabilized non-ionic starch ether. This unique polymer combination is synergistic and yields improved static suspension and provides a highly shear-thinning viscosity under dynamic conditions. Thixsal-Ultra is packaged in 50 lb or 25 kg sacks.
Thixsal-Ultra may be used in sea water, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, and sodium bromide solutions. Suitable composition may also be formulated in calcium chloride with brine densities up to 10.8 lb/gal.
Thixsal-Ultra is designed for application in drilling, completion, and workover operations to provide a low fluid viscosity at high rates of shear, an elevated solution viscosity under static conditions and superior filtration control. Thixsal-Ultra, when used in association with specially sized bridging/weighting particles will reduce whole fluid and filtrate invasion into the productive zone and thereby minimize internal formation damage. Fluid compositions mixed with Thixsal-Ultra may be utilized for the following specific applications:
Drilling into payzone Milling Underreaming Washing sand
Effective well control; when properly formulated, forms a thin, ultra-low permeability, readily removable filter cake allowing hydrostatic pressure overbalance with minimal invasion of solids and fluid into producing formations Polymer synergism provides thermally stable fluid rheological properties with improved suspension at downhole temperatures up to 275oF with the addition of pH Buffer Formulations containing Thermasal™-A, Thermasal-B, and Polytex AHT provide thermal stability up to a bottom hole temperature of 325°F

PBS Plug is a surface-mixed, pumpable plugging material, formulated to provide a rigid crosslinked gel structure. PBS Plug 500 and PBS Plug 2000 contain sized particles of borate-containing minerals and special polymers which provide formulating flexibility to meet various formation requirements in lost circulation applications. PBS Plug Activator a salt/magnesia compound, serves as a crosslink catalyst when mixed with PBS Plug. Also, calcium chloride may be used as a secondary accelerator in cold-water applications, or to increase rigidity of the plug. The polymers in the base product add viscosity and filtration control and are
crosslinked by the borate anion in the sparingly water-soluble borate. The catalysts initiate the crosslink reaction by raising the pH and salinity of the fresh water mixture. This reaction is accelerated by the normally higher temperature in the wellbore. PBS Plug Retarder and PBS Plug Activator-E are used to delay the set, increase the available pumping time, and broaden the window of possible applications. PBS Plug Activator-E is especially useful for mixes where the base water is above 100° F. PBS Plug products are packaged in 25 kg sacks.
PBS Plug is a unique system whose main application is the control of lost circulation. The combination of PBS Plug and PBS Plug Activator satisfies the requirements for the majority of extreme lost circulation situations where anything from induced fractures to total losses are experienced. The final consistency of the PBS Plug also allows it to be easily drilled after the chemical setting reaction has been completed. Calcium chloride may also be added as a secondary accelerator to modify the
PBS Plug shear strength for the following applications:
Lost circulation pill Open hole cement retainer Pre-cement pad Profile modification Formation consolidating gel
The base density for 100 lb/bbl of PBS-Plug is 10.1 lb/gal but weights up to 17.0 lb/gal can be achieved with the addition of barite or other inert weighting material.
PBS Plug offers the following advantages:
Provides excellent fluid loss control Seals high permeability and fractured formations Does not shrink Exhibits high shear strength Bonds tightly to the formation Can be spotted through mud motors and bit nozzles Utilizes standard mixing equipment

Sanheal Pill is a blend of hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) with other polymers and sized calcium carbonates, stabilized to prevent degradation by bacteria and temperature. All components are soluble in 15% hydrochloric acid. Sanheal Pill is packaged in 50 lb or 25 kg sacks.
Sanheal Pill may be used in fresh water, sea water, produced brine, and sodium or calcium chloride brines.
Sanheal Pill is used as a pill for spotting across lost circulation zones. The typical concentration of Sanheal Pill is 50 lb/bbl of base fluid. The volume of the pill will vary according to the length of the lost circulation zone, severity of lost circulation, and hole
size, but should be twice the volume required to cover the problem zone.
Severe or complete lost circulation may require the addition of larger bridging particles. Sluggits (bridging carbonates) with a fine to coarse particle distribution may be added in concentrations of 10 to 75 lb/bbl.
Use a pump truck equipped with a hopper or clean mixing tank with at least one sub-surface gun and a standard mud hopper. Add Sanheal Pill through a hopper at the rate of one sack per 3-5 minutes. Continue to circulate for at least 30 minutes before placing downhole.
Sanheal Pill has been demonstrated in the laboratory and the field to be essentially non-damaging. The filter cake formed in using Sanheal Pill may be removed by treating with 15% hydrochloric acid.

Clay removal additive for filter cakes in open-hole/screen completions
Boreclean is an acidified polyethylene glycol mixed in brine. Exposure of deposited clay drill solids to this solution during the completion phase after the polymer fraction of the filter cake has been chemically degraded improves overall filter cake removal. Preferential adsorption of the polyglycol and displacement of water from the clay surfaces lessens stickiness, surface adherence, and subsequently aids in circulation of these particles from the borehole, prior to producing the well. This reduces the potential for filter cake insolubles to become entrained in a sand exclusion assembly and limit reservoir production. Boreclean is packaged in 50 lb or 25 kg sacks.
Boreclean may be utilized as part of a completion sequence utilized to break filter cake polymers, attack clay solids, and dissolve primary bridging solids. A typical procedure includes:
1. Polymer breaker solution 2. Brine spacer 3. Acidic/polyglycol soak solution 4. Circulating brine wash
Normal treatment is 100 lb/bbl mixed into a HCl/brine solution.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Thermacarb®
A high temperature stabilizer for polymer suspensions
Thermasal is a two component thermal extender for most polymer based drilling, completion and workover fluids. Two primary mechanisms for polymer degradation (exemplified by rapid decrease in fluid viscosity) are: 1. Oxidation reduction reactions resulting in free radical formation, and 2. Acid hydrolysis. Thermasal is designed to prevent these reactions with a synergistic blend of a reducing agent to retard the formation, at elevated temperatures, of free radicals and an alkaline earth oxide to buffer pH.
The two components of Thermasal are:
Thermasal-A- an anhydrous salt antioxidant. (Packaged in 50 lb cans) Thermasal-B- a fine grind magnesia compound. (Packaged in 50 lb or 25 kg sacks)
Thermasal may be used in brines such as sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium bromide, sodium formate, potassium formate, and cesium formate.
Thermasal provides stabilized rheological and filtration properties at temperatures above 250°F for polymer suspensions which are formulated with sized, bridging and/or weighting solids. The addition of Thermasal to brine systems containing sized calcium carbonate or sodium chloride particles extends the thermal limit to 300°F and 325°F, respectively.
* Viscosities were recorded at ambient temperature after aging.

Thermasal™
