Institutes

Verbund für angewandte Hygiene (VAH) e. V. listing (issued listing for disinfection agents) of VAH (Official German Organization for Applied Hygiene). The cur-rently valid listing of disinfectants of VAH – issue 01.01.2006 – represents de-facto all valid and certified disinfection procedures. The listing serves as a “navigator” for the selection of suitable disinfection procedures for routine and prophylactic disinfection in hospitals, in medical and dental practices, in public buildings such as schools, sport centers, kindergartens and in other areas requiring disinfection procedures.

Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI listing) is the central institute of the German government on the sector of applied and action-oriented bio-medical research. According to paragraph 18 of the disinfection protec-tion law (IfSG), all disinfection procedures ordered by public authorities are subject to disinfectants and procedures which have been tested by the Robert-Koch-Institute (RKI) for efficiency and performance and which have been added to/issued in a listing.

Deutsche Veterinärmedizinische Gesellschaft (DVG) e. V. listing The testing of disinfectants (according to DVG regulations) and the acceptance in the listing of disinfectants issued by DVG (for application in the segment of holding livestock and food processing/storage ) is a safe and reliable source of information for users of disinfectants. For producers of disinfectants (formulas) the official confirmed listing by DVG represents an additional competence and quality feature relevant for market positioning.

Säurefliesner-Vereinigung e. V. (RK listing) This organization represents a circle of competent European Tile-Specialists – wholesellers, resellers, and their suppliers. Their annual screening and testing of various cleaning products results in ratings and recommendations by the German Society of Wellness – pools and spa-centers. They list under RK.

Quality assurance in line with DIN EN ISO 9001

This system is currently in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2008 which, among other things, includes customers and suppliers in the quality circle. Since 1997 KLEEN PURGATIS has produced all products within the framework of a comprehensive environmental policy certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 : 2009.

In addition, the production of all products is in line with the EG-regulation No. 1221/2009 EMAS, ecologically tested and entered in the EMAS-Register.

Thus, proof of a consequent and successful corporate policy regarding high quality and a responsible ecological policy for the company and its products has been documented accordingly.

The quality assurance system ensures that work processes are in place to guarantee that all steps of the production chain – from the procurement of raw materials and packaging, over the production of products to the finished product for sales – are in line with a responsible ecological policy. As part of audits at regular intervals, the TÜV has confirmed and certified that these standards have been met.

Example Flooring

Manufacturers coat various types of flooring with new sealing methods. The analysis of these sealing methods presents a highly complex challenge. After all, the customer has the right to expect that KLEEN PURGATIS can provide a solution even after their flooring has been re-sealed or the sealing has been repaired.

More than a dozen chemists work in state-of-the-art labs to develop new products, test raw materials, and optimise formulas. The open dialogue between customers and application specialists provides vital impulses for defining new challenges and solutions for KLEEN PURGATIS products.

The new conservation process has been tested by Cologne’s main hospital, the Augustinerrinnen. Daily they clean approx. 1500 mops. The financial controller has calculated an annual saving on energy costs of approx. 7000.00 EUR.

Applying the new Kleen Purgatis process is also of benefit for existing dryers. When the annual costs for depreciation and maintenance of the dryer are calculated as an additional factor, the annual budget is impacted positively.

In the scenario tested by GfPS, a washing machine from Schulthess was used and loaded with 24 kg of dry fabrics. Only 250 ml of Budesin M was applied to reach a 72 hour germ stop.

Last, but not least, the personnel costs generated when dryers are loaded and unloaded are not longer an issue. Over the period of a year, these savings can also add up.

The consultants at KLEEN PUGATIS can advise customers on their existing and upcoming projects in order to optimise the implementation of the new conservation process for wiping mops.

KLEEN PURGATIS has developed a new process for cleaning and disinfecting wiping mops and microfibre cleaning rags which allows users to save on costs, time and space. Hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions clean and disinfect the wiping mops they use daily.

The official recommendation from the German Robert Koch Institute (RKI) requires hospitals and

nursing homes to provide subsequent,

proper storage for washed and disinfected mops in order to deter bacterial growth. Bio residues in washing machines pose a threat when, during the rinse cycle, new germs can settle on fabrics. The keyword here is humid-germ-pseudomona. When removing the textiles from the washing machine and during storage, several factors can con- tribute to contamination of mops and rags with germs. In order to stop this process, the RKI (Robert Koch Institute) recommends drying mops and rags. This process is not only costly, but also difficult to implement as not all institutional operations have the space needed for additional dryers.

The dryer becomes superfluousKLEEN PURGATIS has developed a process which eliminates the need for cost- and time-intensive drying of mops and rags. Mops and rags are washed with the disinfectant laundry product Lavo Des 60 Plus (Tabs) and Budesin M is added in the final rinse cycle. Afterwards, the damp mops and rags are stored directly. A connection to a small addi-tional injection pump is required. This pump can be installed in all electronically controlled washing machines. The accredited test laboratory of Gesellschaft für Produktions- hyiene und Sterilitätssicherung (GfPS) in Aachen, Germany has confirmed their control testing by application of this new process – germ growth is stopped for at least 72 hours,
