FEATURES/BENEFITS

NCI (Nano-Clear Industrial) is a clear, solvent borne, one component, humidity cured, highly cross-linked hybrid polyurethane/polyurea industrial nanocoating. NCI is manufactured using proprietary nanostructured polymers providing extreme cross-link density. Nano-Clear’s excellent physical properties are a result of the high cross-link density. Nano-Clear penetrates, restores, enhances and extends existing paint systems’ service life 5-10 years.

NCIF has the same physical properties as NCI with the addition of a fluoropolymer, which results in a cured film with very low surface energy. This allows the coating to resist ice, paint (grafitti), concrete, oil/grease, mineral deposits, or build of any kind.

• Air dried, no additional heat required• Extreme corrosion resistance• Restores color, gloss and surface hardness of paint• Outstanding abrasion resistance• Reduced surface maintenance cycles

• Excellent chemical resistance• Impervious to water• Low temperature flexibil ity• Easy-cleaning properties• HVLP, conventional airless sprayer, roller

TYPICAL USES• High gloss top coat over highly oxidized paint surfaces or new fully cured, e-coat, powder coat, epoxy, polyurethane, polyurea, gel coat, anodized

aluminum, wood and concrete• Commercial, industrial and military trucks – util ity, salt, refuse, snowplow, long haul, transport, water, delivery, etc.

• Railroad – tank car, locomotive, bulk freight, box car (exterior and interior), hopper car, special use, maintenance of way vehicles, etc.

• Marine vessels (commercial, fishing, platform, barge, container, leisure, etc.) – interior storage compartments, ballast tanks, pontoons, hulls, exterior surfaces

• Equipment – processing, fabricating, material handling, oil & gas, agriculture, paving, highway, mining, etc.

• Above ground storage tanks and piplines

• Metal components exposed to water and corrosive chemicals

• Bridges/overpasses

• Buildings/structures - metal, wood, concrete

APPLICATION GUIDELINES• Consult with an Industrial Solutions USA representative for complete and detailed application instructions. NCI/NCIF IS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY.

Please read the MSDS.• Wear protective eye wear, respirator, skin protection and chemical resistant rubber gloves.• Ensure the ambient air temperature and substrate temperature is a minimum of 5 degrees above the dew point.• Clean substrate thoroughly to remove contaminants and debris then dry thoroughly. Substrate must be dry.

• High gloss surfaces should be sanded after cleaning to create a profile then cleaned again to remove abraded debris leaving the surface clean and dry. If using solvent, acetone is recommended if compatible with the substrate surface.

• Airless conventional spray system, HVLP or roller.

• Only dispense the amount of product to be used in the current application session then re-seal the original container immediately to prevent

material from initiating cure in the container. Nitrogen gas should be used to maintain the quality of unused material.• Wet-on-wet application. Apply a wet coat to one section; wait 5 – 10 minutes then re-apply second coat and repeat for the third coat for

a total of 2-3 mils WFT. Cross-hatching is recommended. Do not recoat after 20 – 30 minutes of elapsed time as this will result in uneven coating.• Recommended thickness 1-3 mils DFT depending on the service environment.• Clean equipment immediately after use with acetone. Do not use water or alcohol.• Tack free in 30-40 minutes @ 50% relative humidity and 72F. Handle in 4 hours. Full cure in 24-48 hours depending on relative humidity.• Allow 6 hours cure time before exposed to rain or snow.

LIMITATIONS• Caution: Too high of a film build combined with high temperatures and high humidity will cause material to skin, trap gases and not fully cure.

HVLP Spray Equipment • Fluid Tip: Air Spray 1.2mm – 1.5mm

• Fluid Line: 3/8” • Pressure Pot: 15-20psi

• Pressure at Gun: 29-30psi

Airless Spray Equipment• Tip Size: .017-.019” orifice• Pump: 30:1 minimum• Pressure: 800psi (Recommend testing individual system for best pressure setting)

NCI/NCIFPolyurethane Based Hybrid

PACKAGING, STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE• 1 gallon can – approx. 8 lbs.• 5 gallon pail – approx. 40 lbs.• 55 gallon drum – approx. 440 lbs.• Coverage is approximately 500 square feet per gallon @ I mil DFT.• Store unused material in the original container after displacing the air in the container with nitrogen gas.• Material has a shelf l ife of 12 months after the date of manufacture if properly stored unopened at 72F. Refer to the batch number on product label for date of manufacture.

PERFORMANCE WARRANTY10 year manufacturer’s warranty.
