Company History

YBS Insulation was founded in 1994 by the current owner Mr Chris

Woodhall. The strategy was to produce high quality, innovative and

affordable insulation products for the building industry.

YBS Insulation has grown steadily over the years from a one man

operation producing one product in 1994 to the large manufacturing

and distribution company it is today with an impressive portfolio

of products developed to suit all of our customers needs which

include: SuperQuilt, BreatherQuilt, ThermaQuilt, Therma-Wrap, Cavi-

Mate, Easi-Close, Foiltec, Therma-Close, Airtec and Breatherfoil all

manufactured in our purpose built factory in Sheffield, England.

YBS Insulation is now the UK market leader in reflective insulation

technology with additional sales offices spread throughout Europe

and a vast distribution network.

Multi-layer Insulation Blanket

Description

SuperQuilt is a very flexible, easy to fit, multilayer insulation that

offers tremendous thermal benefits. Thermal testing to EN16012

confirms high core thermal resistance of 1.52m²K/W.

Due to the special composition of multi-layers of insulation

SuperQuilt effectively deals with all forms of energy transfer (i.e.

conduction, convection and radiation). SuperQuilt works most

effectively by reflecting infra-red radiation. This means that not

only is SuperQuilt effective in winter by reflecting heat back into

the building and cold out, but also in summer SuperQuilt is a very

effective solar over heating barrier reducing the need for artificial

cooling systems, preventing uncomfortable heat build up in the

roof.

The introduction of a unique method of stitching reduces cold

bridging commonly seen with other multi-foil insulation material.

Description

Non-Itch Insulation is made from user-friendly non-irritating, non-

itch material that is free from floating fibres or dust and so avoids

skin irritation and respiratory problems normally associated with

other forms of insulation. Non-Itch will not deteriorate over time

and will not be affected by mould, mildew or rot. Non-Itch is also

resistant to vermin and insect attack.

Non-Itch is packed very tightly to enable maximum distribution

per bag. The time taken for Non-Itch to return to full thickness will

vary according to ambient temperature and storage time. Giving

Non-Itch a good shake when removed from the packaging will

help to accelerate this process.

Description

Airtec is a multi-layer air bubble film insulation with aluminium

bonded to either one face (Airtec-Single) or both faces (Airtec-

Double). The aluminium is coated to give durability and corrosion

resistance therefore creating a fully waterproof insulation system.

Airtec is a high performance insulation material which acts by

trapping air within its structure creating low emissivity air spaces

which enhance its total thermal capabilities.

Description

Smaller rooms can be a result of demands for energy saving

insulation.. These rooms are often made to feel even smaller with

a radiator taking up a large part of precious wall space, reducing

options of where to put furniture; bedding, chairs, settees etc.

Underfloor heating provides a very effective solution, freeing

Description

CAVI-MATE is a robust window installation system ideal for the

new build market. Manufactured from high quality PVC-U, it is a

window former, locator and cavity closer, which enables Contrac-

tors to fit window frames quickly and easily by building around

the sub-frame then fitting the window after all other building work

is completed. Builder-friendly, CAVI-MATE can be used in con-

junction with any type of window system, including timber, and

can be mechanically joined using a simple, purpose-designed

corner cleat.

• Built-in as work progresses friction fitting.

• Easi-Close can be installed after the reveal has been

constructed by fixing to the inner leaf using grab adhesive.

Vertical Jointing

If required, sections of Easi-Close can be jointed to minimise

waste. All joints must be tightly butted -

450 downwards towards the outer leaf. This will stop potential

water penetration.

Corner Jointing

When jointing horizontal to vertical, trim both PVC flanges and

allow the vertical to extend below the horizontal - this stops water

ingress.

Description

(Therma-Close) Type-R and Type-R Fire-Stop are specially

designed to create a more rigid water proof cavity closer system.

Type-R and Type-R Fire-Stop comprises two rigid extensions, one

of which has a unique, flexible, water seal. Once the window is in

place the flexible seal sits against the window frame and acts as

a secondary water seal. These two rigid extensions allow Type-R

and Type-R Fire-Stop to be made to any cavity width. Type-R and

Type-R Fire-Stop are now available for both standard and check

reveals to suit Robust Details.
