Important informationHAKI’s product liability and erection instructions apply only to scaffolds that areentirely composed of components that have been made and supplied by HAKI.

HAKI’s type examination certicate applies only to scaffolds whose materials, dimensions and design accord with those specied in the documentation uponwhich this certicate is based.

HAKI’s scaffold systems must not be erected using components of makes otherthan HAKI or be connected to scaffolds of makes other than HAKI. In such cases,a special study of load-bearing capacity must be carried out. However, HAKI hasno objection to the customary addition of scaffold tubes and approved couplersto the scaffold.

Adding components from different suppliers may invalidate the insurance cover.

For scaffold structures that are not covered by these erection instructions, pleasecontact HAKI’s technical department.

HAKI reserves the right to make technical modications on a continual basis.

Horizontals and diagonals are marked with their nominal sizes (bay sizes) and acolour code. The marking is a useful means of identication when erecting andhandling the scaffold material.

Product manual HAKI Couplers, right angle coupler RA 48x48 andswivel coupler SW 48x48.

Type examination and assessment have been carried out by the SP Technical ResearchInstitute of Sweden.

Use1. Couplers with the values presented above, are only intended to be used for steel

tubes with diameter 48.3 mm, thickness ≥3.2 mm and yield strength of≥235 N/mm², alternatively thickness ≥2,7 mm and yield strength of ≥315 N/mm²;or Aluminium tubes of diameter 48.3 mm, thickness ≥4.0 mm and yield strength of

≥95 N/mm².2. For specied values of capacity and stiffness, see SS-EN 74-1. Note that the values

according to SS-EN 74-1 are characteristic values, to be transformed to permissiblevalues they have to be divided by 1.65.

3. The couplers shall be tightened with a torque of 50 Nm.

4. The screws of the couplers shall be lubricated to minimize the internal friction.

5. Damaged couplers may not be used.

For conguration BB according to SS-EN 74-1, the used couplers have to be identical.
