PROTECTION FROM THE ELEMENTSThe F115B features a new outer cowling design with an intake air drain system, to easily and efficiently drain away any water that enters the cowling during normal engine operation. Incoming air is routed through a labyrinth of passages that help trap and drain water before it enters the engine’s intake, for maximum reliability.
1.8 LITRE EFI, DOHC IN-LINE 4-CYLINDER 16 VALVE ENGINEYamaha is raising the bar with the introduction of the new F115B four-stroke outboard. The new F115B replaces the current F115A, a brilliant engine that is already the leader in its class. The F115B plays host to all the latest combination of innovative, efficient and performance oriented technology. The engine compression ratio has been increased, and so has the full throttle operating range: 5300-6300rpm. The inclusion of an engine knock sensor, which is a which is an uncommon feature in this class of outboard, allows the engine to operate safely and constantly at peak output. Class leading efficiency and performance is achieved throughout the complete rev range via the latest in Yamaha’s efficient multi-point EFI and ECM control and bigger displacement 4-cylinder DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshafts) 4-valve per cylinder design. The multi-point EFI and ECM control delivers the optimum fuel mixture into the combustion chamber, whilst the DOHC, 4-big-valve, 4-cylinder design guarantees precise, efficient and reliable engine operation.
COMMAND LINK (OPTIONAL)All our EFI engines can be linked, via Yamaha’s own digital network system, to a wide range of instruments to help you get the best from your engine. A multi-function tachometer displays RPM, engine hours, trim angle, oil pressure and warning lamps. The combined Speed and Fuel Management gauge shows speed, fuel tank level and economy data, whilst the inclusion of the YCOP security will give peace of mind protection.

VARIABLE TROLLING SPEEDControlled by command link gauges, the operator can adjust the engine’s
trolling speed from 600 to 1000 rpm in 50 rpm increments. This helps provide precise and consistent trolling speeds in an array of conditions.
The Variable Trolling feature allows anglers to adjust the boat trolling speed in small speed increments. The ability to fine tune lure presentations to even the
fussiest species giving fishermen unprecedented advantages.

BEST IN-CLASS CHARGING POWERThe new alternator delivers more power than before: 35 amps at wide open throttle (compared to 24 for the previous F115) producing a full 28 amps at only 1,000 rpm which means it has sufficient output to keep charging the battery even at low rpm.

FLANGE COUPLING FLYWHEELWith a service friendly design, the flange-mounted flywheel is fastened by 6 easily-accessible bolts.

PERFECT TIMINGThe flywheel flange and crankshaft has been cast from
a single piece to save on weight. The sprockets to the belt have been engineered to reduce mass allowing for quicker acceleration.
DOHC 16 VALVEThe 16 valve, DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) systems offers optimum valve
control from low to high end speeds. The F115B incorporates larger intake and exhaust valves which enhances response, efficiency and significantly improves
the mid-range torque.
MULTI-POINT ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION
The ECM controlled multi-point electronic fuel injection system precisely measures the fuel and injects it into the combustion chamber at the optimum
timing to increase performance and assure quick engine starting in various environmental conditions.
The four-stroke, four-valve per cylinder F115B is able to maximize combustion efficiency in a way that no two-stroke can, delivering the utmost in quiet power
and performance.
81MM CYLINDER BOREThe cylinder bore size has been increased from 79mm to 81mm which
provides more engine torque. A larger valve was adopted for increased transfer efficiency for both intake and exhaust.
OFFSET CRANKSHAFTPreviously only seen in larger capacity engines, the all-new F115B sees the introduction of a 5mm offset crankshaft which encourages efficient combustion transfer.

THROTTLE BODYThe introduction of a 60mm size single bore throttle body minimises intake resistance and provides first-rate response for acceleration and high speed operation.
CLEAN AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY HYDRO-CARBON GAS CONFINEMENT SYSTEMThe new Yamaha F115B utilises the hydrocarbon gas confinement system to reduce the release of emission in the atmosphere. The HGCS features 3 sub-systems:
1. The fuel vaporization control system which cools the fuel to minimize vaporized gas in the vapour separation tank.
2. The fuel vapour accumulation system includes a carbon canister which absorbs cooled vapours from the vapour separation tank rather than discharging it into the air atmosphere.
3. The hydrocarbon gas re-burning system eliminates vaporized gas and blow-by gas by returning it to the intake manifold for re-burning.

INTAKE MANIFOLDConstructed from heat resilient durable plastic, the intake manifold
design reduces engine noise and improves low speed stability.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD The newly-developed exhaust manifold removes exhaust gases effectively,
promoting clean and efficient power. The water jacketed manifold allows for easy disassembly for servicing and is anodised for durability.
WATER SEPARATING FUEL FILTER The water detection sensor incorporated in the fuel filter protects the injection
system from debris and water damage. If water has contaminated the fuel filter, a “Water in Fuel” warning will be activated.

STARTING MOTOR The F115B uses a coaxial reduction motor to provide high torque cranking in
a limited space. This compact and high torque starter ensures the engine will start first time, every time.
PTT UNIT AND BRACKETThis compact and lightweight single ram PTT unit and bracket have been developed exclusively for the F115B. The maximum tilt angle can be adjusted with the optional tilt limiter, to prevent cowl damage on some boats and accessories.
UPPER CASING The two-piece split style upper casing contributes to a service friendly design. The rigid two piece construction is both durable and lightweight. The upper half includes the oil pan. A water jacket is built into the bottom for oil cooling.
OIL CATCH TRAYThe convenient and environmentally-friendly tray catches excess oil from the filter preventing spills during oil changes, reducing filter servicing time.
LABYRINTH EXHAUST SYSTEM Yamaha’s proven labyrinth exhaust system reduces engine noise at low RPM and idle. A water sealed outer wall around the exhaust muffler effectively reduces exhaust tone for a whisper quiet operation.

and gear shift controls, to the easy-to-use Variable Trolling RPM Switch, it’s ergonomic design provides maximum control with maximum comfort.
SHIFT DAMPENER SYSTEM (SDSTM)Yamaha’s patent-pending Shift Dampener System (SDS) delivers smooth and
quiet operation when both shifting and while in gear by absorbing the force that is created. A new aluminium series of SDS propeller has been developed
and can be fitted to the F115B in certain applications.
