    Vodafone Group is a British multinationaltelecommunications companyheadquartered in Londonand with its registered office in Newbury. It isthe world's third-largest mobile telecommunications companymeasured by

    both subscribers and 2013 revenues (in each case behind China Mobile), andhad 453 million subscribers as of June 2013.

    The evolution of 'Vodafone' brand started in 1982 with the establishment of

    'Racal Strategic Radio Ltd' subsidiary of Racal ElectronicsUK's largestmaker of military radio technology. By initiative of Jan StenbeckRacalStrategic Radio Ltd formed a joint venture with Millicomcalled 'RacalVodafone', which would later evolve into the present day Vodafone.

    Product and services

    Products promoted by the Group include Vodafone live!, Vodafone MobileConnect USB Modem,Vodafone Connect to Friends, Vodafone Freedom Packs,Vodafone at Home, Vodafone 710 and Amobee Media Systems.

    In October 2009, it launched Vodafone 360, a new internet service forthe mobile, PC and Mac. This was discontinued in December 2011 afterdisappointing hardware sales. This was after The Director of Internet

    Services resigned in September 2010 tweeting "5 days before I leaveVodafone. Freedom beckons. In February 2010, Vodafone launched world'scheapest mobile phone known as Vodafone 150, will sell for below $15 (10)and is aimed at the developing world. It will initially be launched in India,Turkey and eight African countries including Lesotho, Kenya and Ghana.

    ISO Certification

    Vodafone has always been oriented quality policy to satisfy ourcustomers.

    Therefore since November 1996 AENOR certifies our qualitysystem demonstrating that comply with the ISO 9001 internationalstandard. Our aim is to increase the satisfaction of our customers,meeting their needs, laws and regulations apply. Currently keep thiscertificate whose area includes: attention and loyalty of our customers,deployment and maintenance of our network, products and services,billing clients based on the requirements set by the Ministerial Order

    ITC / 912/2006, and the pre and commissioning of fixed and mobileservices for large companies and governmenttelecommunications. Certificate management system quality

    Quality System

    Supplier shall operate a quality management system which conforms as aminimum to the Requirements of ISO9000 (or ISO20000 where applicable) orequivalent standard and is Certified by an independent accredited thirdparty;

    1.2.1. Provide Vodafone with the name of a management representativeresponsible for Quality assurance;

    1.2.2. Identify Supplier facilities associated with the Vodafone related work;1.2.3. Identify all third party suppliers upon which the supply of productsand services to Vodafone is materially dependent;1.2.6. Make available appropriate personnel and facilities to enable Vodafoneto conduct Review or audits

    Vodafone Zoozoos

    IPL Season 2 saw the birth of the Zoozoo for Vodafone: eggshell likecharacters created to tell a new value-added service story each time. In2008, Vodafone had unveiled the Happy to Help series during the first

    season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). With the launch of the secondseason, Vodafone had given birth to the Zoozoo: a special character createdspecifically to convey a value added service (VAS) offering in each of thenewly released commercials.

    BlackBerry Boys

    The BlackBerry boys returned in 2012 with their second commercialwhich talked about how they are no longer the 'BlackBerry Boys' because theyouth uses BBM service for various purposes, right from sharing pictures tomusic and many more, which takes them beyond the world of chatting. Theadvertisement was shot in a manner that gave the impression of a 'boy-band'music video and was backed by the song, 'They are the BlackBerry Boys'.

    Network ads with the Pug

    "You & I" was an advertising campaign of Vodafone India which aimed atestablishing the superior network provided by the company. The ads featured

    a child actor Jayaram along with a pug named Cheeka. The dog follows theboy in unlikely locations, prompting the tagline, "Wherever you go, ournetwork follows." The duo first appeared on TV, billboards, newspapers andbus shelters in 2003 and became instant celebrities all over India. Thecampaign was created by Mahesh V. and Rajeev Rao, Senior CreativeDirectors at Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai.

    Vodafone Delights

    Vodafone launched Vodafone Delights in October 2011 thatoffered customers benefits on travel, lifestyle, dining and entertainment

    with other commercial establishments. These benefits could be availedby the customers by sending a SMS or dialing a USSD code. TheVodafone Delights commercials depicted a budding friendship betweentwo schoolgirls who would go out of their way to treat the other. Thejingle Little things you do for me appreciated by every viewer and

    struck a chord a chord especially with the youngsters.

    MHealth services

    In November 2009, Vodafone announced the creation of a new business

    unit focused on the emerging mHealthmarket One of its early success storiesis with the Novartis-led "SMS for Life" project in Tanzania, for whichVodafone developed and deployed a text-message based system that enablesall of the countrys 4,600 public health facilities to report their levelsof anti-malarial medications so that stock level data can be viewed centrallyin real-time, enabling timely re-supply of stock. During the SMS for Lifepilot, which covered 129 health facilities over six months, stock-outs droppedfrom 26% to 0.8%, saving thousands of lives.
