How to Read a Biplot Overview
� Macro level analysis
– Focus on differences between products (used when comparing 3 or more products).
� There are several “rules” that should be used in reading biplots

Difference Driver Analysis Overview

– Determines the direction for change of the attribute to increase overall opinion
� A penalty reflects the decline in overall opinion between those who felt the product was “just right” on an attribute, vs. those saying it was “too weak” or “too strong”.
– Attributes are considered “just right” if scores are 80% or greater.
� Product testing experience suggests that penalties of concern are those where:
– 20% or more of the sample indicates the product is too weak or too strong and the associated overall liking penalty is greater than .75 (when a 7-point overall opinion scale is

• A Source of Volume (SOV) is an analysis tool that:- Is designed to provide guidance in estimating what portion of a test concept�s volume is being
