    General Information

    This is a parallel version of Monthar's original Production Cost Analysis spreadsheet.

    Important Note for users of OpenOffice

    Description

    How To Use This Spreadsheet

    If you find N/A in some of the cells, go to Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org Calc > Calculate and check the boxSearch criteria = and must apply to whole cells

    This spreadsheet should help everyone who is involved in the economy to calculate the production costs of anyintended to be used as a buyers guide.

    Within the spreadsheet there are multiple options to set it up for your personal needs. For example, you can set wrates you pay (either structure by structure or globally) and what doubloon per lot-hour and/or percentage mark-upoverride manufactured costs with the actual purchase prices you pay for bought-in goods, or with the value of excTraders.All recipes in the game are included and there is a summary Prices sheet listing prices of every item, to which youper lot-hour and/or percentage mark-ups and compare them side by side. There are a couple of useful tables to qand multiple-item trades.There is a Shipyard Planner to calculate the materials required to make a list of ships and outfitting and a Product

    lines and what structures you need.You can also look up the turn-ins and their value your reputation makes available at the European Traders and tuavailable from the Commendation Exchanges in the national capitals.Finally the sheet Bob the Builder calculates all the building materials and costs required to build multiple structures

    Go to the Settings sheet first. Here you declare what structures you own, so that calculations will use advanced sspecific shipyard if you own them, or will know to use game animals instead of livestock to make leather.You can set tax rates for each structure (5% is set as defult) and Port Governor-applied Doubloon and Labour CoYou can also declare what relative value you place on goods produced by recipes with two outputs.

    The Prices sheet allows you to look up the price of every manufacturable item in the game and compare prices whour and/or percentage mark-ups. You can also carry out quick calculations for single prices and multiple trades. - whether or not you use advanced recipes- whether you wish to include structure upkeep costs in the calculated prices- a value on Marks of Trade, Marks of Victory, Royal Commendations / Captured Batle Ensigns and Magistrate's /Excellence. These are used for the Dauntless Frigate, Couronne Mastercraft Galleon, refit and writ ships.- for items you have to buy, you can set a purchase price which is then used in all calculations instead of the man- an option to use Euro Trade values for items you acquire through the Euro Traders instead of the direct manufac

    Shipyard Planneris for people engaged in shipbuilding or making outfittings. It calculates all the ingredients necmade shipwright materials and outfitting, along with the recipe costs and times (using structures, taxes, cost redselected in the Settings and Prices sheets), broken down by structure: Shipyard, Forge, Lumber Mill and Textilenot calculated is the cost of purchased materials. To use it:

    1. Create a list of items you want to make (ships, outfitting, lineship structure bundles, hulls and rigs)2. Enter items you already have in either the Already Have In Shipyard Port table and/or one of the structure Alrea3. Buy/make all the items in the turquoise cells listed by structure. You can also quickly check you have enough m4. Make all the items in the list created in step 1.

    Production Plannerallows you to plan production lines. Every structure is listed except for Careening Camp, Aevery recipe is listed except for ships and outfittings. You can select which structures you own, what recipes to rto use for the calculation and it will calculate the total costs involved, the net surplus or shortage of every materialmany unused hours there are in each structure.

    Most of the remaining sheets list the individual recipes, categorised as they are in the game.

    History

    Euro-Trades shows what exchanges are possible at the different European Traders based on your reputation. Ttimes are listed, and you can apply doubloons per lot-hour and/or percentage mark-ups to these as well, allowingof different exchanges.If you obtain goods through the European Traders rather than making or buying them, you can use the emanufactured cost in other price calculations. To do this:1. Enter the actual turn ins you are making at different European Traders. If you use more than one Trader, the av

    Commendation Exchange shows the possible exchanges and their value at Exchequers, Commendation Enational capitals. Only manufacturable items are shown.

    Bob the Buildercalculates the building materials and costs for making multiple structures.

    Society Administration is used to record details of members' production

    Writs and Refits lists the requirements for all refit and certifiable ships.

    The first version of this spreadsheet was released by Monthar while the game was still in closed beta. At the powas an intention to have one society webpage to provide the sheet exclusively. After a few weeks it was brought Monthar maintained it up to Version 1.2.x. After Monthar was caught by his real life, the work was taken over bypretty long to keep the sheet up to date. With version 1.5.48.0.0 SirGrey decided to bring up this decent work up of revival. The intention was that the sourceforge system would make it easier to maintain the spreadsheet and espreadsheet is still available and is kept up to date by SirGrey.

    Remus added a Shipyard Planner tab to version 1.6.34.1.50 for his own use in calculating shipbuilding mateincorporated into Production Cost Analysis 1.7.36.0.0 by SirGrey, but Remus continues to use this version for hisas game patches are released and improvements are suggested. To avoid confusion between the two versions, RShipyard Planner from 1.8 and Production Planner from 1.9 although it does incorporate all the functionality of Proplus several additional features subsequently introduced by SirGrey.

    IMPORTANT: Before looking Prices, Euro Trades or the Planner sheets, you should adjust your settings on

    INFO: Double output recipes divide the cost and labor between the two outputs. There are three ways of doi1. The first output is fixed in value and all other costs go to the second output2. A percentage of the costs go to the first output and the remainder goes to the second output3. The second output is fixed in value and all other costs go to the first outputLabor hours are divided in the same proportion as costs.The default values are the amounts the Junk Merchant pays for the second output.

    INFO: The Owned column is used to decide which structure to use for a recipe when calculating lot-hours aor Livestock are used in calculations involving Leather, Cured Meat or Crates of Hides.If you do not say you own any structure, the default structure for that recipe is used.If you say you own a structure a recipe can be run in, that structure is used.If you say you own more than one structure a recipe can be run in, the structure that takes the fewest lot-hostructure with the lowest upkeep is used. For example a small shipyard will be preferred over an advancedmaster large shipyard is preferred over a medium shipyard (but not an advanced medium shipyard) becauseAssembly Yard because of the structure upkeep.This information is used in all recipe calculations in the Prices and Shipyard Planner sheets.In general, declaring that you own a structure only really makes a difference in the case of advanced structuLodge, whose ownership means that hides, cured meat and leather will use the Game Animals recipes.

    INFO: Tax Rates and Labor and Doubloon Cost Reductions apply to individual ports. In Production Planner iare in the same port.Tax Rates are determined by which nation owns a port and whether you have any skill such as Tax Evasionmodified by Port Governors.
