PUTTING SOLUTIONS TOGETHER AROUND THE WORLD
Scapa North America is a world leader in the development
of high performance adhesive films and tapes designed to
increase manufacturing efficiency by replacing traditional
bonding and fastening materials. Our specialty adhesive film
systems provide more uniform bonding and stress distribution
than mechanical fasteners, screws, and rivets and are
cleaner, easier to apply, and more environmentally friendly
than liquid adhesives. In maintaining our commitment to
consistently provide superior products and service, Scapa
plants are registered to ISO 9000 quality standards. We
pay rigorous attention to maintaining these high standards
of performance so that we may continue to provide the
exceptional products and service that customers have
come to expect from Scapa North America.
At Scapa, we consider ourselves a technical partner to our
customers and offer them the most innovative and diverse
line of specialty adhesive films and tapes available in the
industry. However, if one of our standard products will not
meet a customer’s design or production requirements,
we’ll custom design a unique solution to meet their specific
needs. Our research and development teams work directly
with customers to create custom adhesive film systems that
provide solutions to the most unique assembly challenges.

Adhesive Transfer Films
Scapa adhesive transfer films are used to replace hot
melts and other messy assembly adhesives with safe,
economical, room-temperature adhesive systems. The
Unifilm® Series of high-performance, pressure sensitive
adhesive transfer films provide excellent adhesion to a wide
variety of substrates including untreated polyethylene and
polypropylene. These products die cut easily and conform
to intricate contours while offering excellent quick-stick and
environmental durability. UltrafilmTM Series products feature
a thermoformable plastic liner that eliminates the dust,
cockling, and tearing experienced with standard paper
liners, and facilitates in-line lamination and die cutting of
high-volume components. Typical applications for Scapa
adhesive transfer films include:
 Foam fabrication
 Gasketing
 Picture framing
Splicing of paper and plastic films
 Decorative trim attachment
 General-purpose bonding

Single Coated Tapes
Scapa single coated tapes are available with acrylic, rubber,
silicone, and modified-silicone adhesives on a variety of backings
including aluminum foil, cloth, polycoated cloth, polyester,
polyethylene, and polyimide. Other constructions include rubber
self-fusing tapes and silicone coated-surface protection tapes.
Aluminum Foil Tapes –
Ideal for sealing HVAC ductwork and architectural panels,
decorative trim attachment, electronic shielding, and
heat-sink applications.
Cloth Tapes –
Coated cloth tapes are used in gaffer’s applications for stage
trim, set wiring, and temporary mounting. They’re available in
a variety of colors and are also printable to provide a highly
visible, self-adhesive backing for warning labels and safety
tapes. Uncoated cloth tapes are used for wire marking,
appliance wire harness assembly, and surface protection.
Polyflex® Polyethylene Tapes –
An excellent alternative to duct tape, they bond at low temperatures
and offer excellent conformability and adhesion with no adhesive
residue upon removal. Polyflex products are used for splicing
of polyethylene sheeting, masking of windows and doorframes
during exterior stucco finishing, surface protection, bundling
and patching, as well as general-purpose bonding and sealing.
Silicone Adhesive Splicing Tapes –
Ideal for splicing silicone coated webs. Modified-silicone
adhesive tapes provide a more economical splicing solution
for silicone coated webs that operate in ambient temperatures.
AmalgaSeal® Self-fusing Tapes –
Protect high voltage systems from water and moisture that
could cause an electrical failure and also provide a shock-
resistant wrap for hand tools.
RollerMateTM Silicone-coatedSurface Protection Tapes –
Non-stick, non-slip tapes prevent
build-up of adhesives and other
sticky materials on production
rollers and also provide exceptional
traction to the web.8

PUTTING SOLUTIONS TOGETHER AROUND THE WORLD
Scapa North America is a world leader in the development
of high performance adhesive films and tapes designed to
increase manufacturing efficiency by replacing traditional
bonding and fastening materials. Our specialty adhesive film
systems provide more uniform bonding and stress distribution
than mechanical fasteners, screws, and rivets and are
cleaner, easier to apply, and more environmentally friendly
than liquid adhesives. In maintaining our commitment to
consistently provide superior products and service, Scapa
plants are registered to ISO 9000 quality standards. We
pay rigorous attention to maintaining these high standards
of performance so that we may continue to provide the
exceptional products and service that customers have
come to expect from Scapa North America.
At Scapa, we consider ourselves a technical partner to our
customers and offer them the most innovative and diverse
line of specialty adhesive films and tapes available in the
industry. However, if one of our standard products will not
meet a customer’s design or production requirements,
we’ll custom design a unique solution to meet their specific
needs. Our research and development teams work directly
with customers to create custom adhesive film systems that
provide solutions to the most unique assembly challenges.

For chemically stripping paint, our self-wound aluminum
foil tape stands up to the harshest chemicals and meets
LT 80B and Mil-T-23397B Amendment 2 Type II standards.
 Erosion Protection –
Our tough thermoplastic polyurethane tape can substan-
tially extend the life and appearance of the leading edges
of wings, tails, and propellers that are subject to erosion
both in the air and on the ground. It’s manufactured from
a tear and puncture-resistant film, then coated with an
aggressive acrylic adhesive and protected by an easy-
release silicone liner.
