Houghton also has products designed for steel wire drawing. They are designed to produce severe reductions in diameter when drawing round, carbon steel wire. The products contain high film strength agents and a unique solid film lubricant. This combination allows reduction of 45% or more and results in a bright, shiny finish on the wire.

Cindol® Lubricants
Houghton’s Cindol line of oil lubricants is formulated with ND, a potent additive that dramatically lowers the coefficient of friction of steel-to-aluminum and aluminum-to- aluminum. It can also be used effectively on stainless steel, bronze, brass, galvanized steel, titanium and other metals. Cindol oils provide the following benefits:
