2) 2008– 2011 RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

♦ The synthesis of naturally occurring 1,1'-linked aminodisaccharide and its several analogues

produced by bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis was accomplished.

♦ Explored the biosynthetic path way for the synthesis of 1,1'-linked aminodisaccharide by

synthesizing all of its biological precursors.

♦ How bacteria synthesize 1,1'-linked aminodisaccharide is still unknown! Therefore, in vitro

kinetics experiments with purified protein have resulted interesting and exciting results that

are going to be publish in due course soon.

♦ Additionally, helped grad and undergrad students in their research projects.

compounds; and submitted a patent on “New NO-Releasing Antiischemic Agents: Using a

Fluoropryidin-3-yl Phosphoric Acid Derivative as a Template”

♦ Invented a small scale synthesis of MC-1 (company’s cardiovascular drug) for ADME

studies; investigated chemical aspects of the mechanisms of drug action

♦ Solved the long standing issue regarding absolute stereochemistry of MC-5422 (company’s

cardiovascular drug) through X-ray crystallography

♦ Proposed research project and initiated research on factor VIIa/TF inhibition as a part of

antithrombotic program
