Professional Development Technology Basics
This manual will show you how to: • Access the Professional Development Outlook Calendar • Utilize the Training Portal • Access the Professional Development webpage
Section 1: How to Access the Professional Development Calendar in Outlook
Click the folder at the bottom of the navigation pane. This will take you to the folder list.

Scroll down in the Navigation Pane until you see the Public Folders file and click the arrow to show the subfolders within that folder.

Click the arrow to open the folder All Public Folders subfolder.

Scroll down until you see the Indianapolis subfolder. Click the arrow to open the folder Indianapolis subfolder.

Once the Indianapolis subfolder is open you can see the file named Professional Development Events Calendar “PD Events-Calendar.”

If you right click on the PD-Events-Calendar you can add this calendar to your favorites by clicking add to favorites. This will allow you to easily access the calendar the next time you wish to view the PD-Events-Calendar.

The next time you view the calendar navigation pane you will see the PD-Events-Calendar in the other calendars subfolder.

Section 2: How to Access the Professional Development Website
On the Home tab find the quick links box and scroll down to the bottom of the webpage.

Click the link for the Professional Development website and the webpage will open.

Your Connection to Professional Development Events Section 3: Ivy Tech Training Portal Basics
Logging Into the Ivy Tech Training Portal…
Log into Campus Connect using your Campus Connect user
name and password.

Once logged into Campus Connect, you will be taken to the “Home” page. Once here, click on the “Employee Services” tab.

Once you have clicked on “Employee Services”, you will arrive at the screen that will connect you to the Training Portal. Click on “Ivy Tech Training Portal”.

Congratulations! You are now logged into the Ivy Tech Employee Training Portal.
Once in the Training Portal, you will see several tabs depending on your access: Overview, Events, My Training, Reports, and Help. Click on “My Training”.

Access CBT/Self Study…
From the “My Training /CBTs and Webinars” tab, find the CBT-Self Study (or enter your Search criteria) and click on “Search”. Once you have identified the CBT/Webinar you
want to take, click on “Launch”.

Register for Training Events…
From the “My Training/Register for Event” tab, find the course you want to take on the Search line. Once identified, click on “Register”. Once you click register, all of
the fields under “I am currently registered” will populate and/or you can unregister for an event. 22
Access Training Manuals…
From the “My Training/Training Manuals” tab, use the drop down menu to find the discipline area. Click on “Search”. Once you see the manual you want to
review, Click “View”.

Access Your Training Record…
From the “My Training/My Training Record” tab, you can view any training courses for which you have received credit.

Portal Help…
Clicking on the “Help” tab will allow you to view FAQs and contact information.
