• Consistent strength meeting all the conformity criteria in BS EN 197-1.

• Contains cement performance enhancing additives to give the following benefits compared with ordinary Portland Cement

Lower water demand, virtually eliminated separation of water, cement & aggregate to reduce bleed, a homogenous more cohesive mix, and increased resistance of hardened concrete/mortar to freeze/thaw attack.

Professional Grade Cement is supplied in 25kg bags within the UK.

STORAGE

Professional Grade Cement is a cement-based material and should be handled and stored with care. This product may be stored, unopened, in either indoor or outdoor conditions clear of the ground. If stored correctly and used within 155 days of the packing date shown on the bag, the activity of the reducing agent will be maintained.

CONDITIONS OF USE

Professional Grade Cement should not be mixed with additions or other cement types.

Professional Grade Cement may be used in the range of traditional nominal mixes as for traditional Portland Cement.

To achieve optimum performance from Professional Grade Cement in concrete or other products, it is essential that it is correctly specified and used.

As with other cements in building work, there is no substitute for good practice and workmanship. It is essential to use the correct materials, proportion and mix the materials properly, add the correct amount of water, compact, cure and protect as appropriate.

Normal hot and cold weather practice should also be followed.

The final finish quality of this material will depend upon the operative having the required skills and a familiarity with the material and its application methods. Breedon Cement cannot be held responsible where workmanship has not been carried out in accordance with good practice.

Manual handling should comply with The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.

Professional Grade Cement is manufactured from natural products, and slight shade variations may occur. All Professional Grade Cement comes from a single source in the Peak District and ensures a consistently light colour.

Rapid Set Post Mix secures posts quickly and accurately.

APPLICATIONS

Rapid Set Post Mix is suitable for fixing all types of wooden, metal and concrete posts.

PROPERTIES

Rapid Set Post Mix is a kiln dried, pre-blended, factory produced, quick setting concrete which hardens in approximately 10 minutes after water addition, depending on ambient conditions.

STORAGE

Rapid Set Post Mix should be stored in unopened bags clear of the ground, in cool dry conditions and protected from damp, frost, heat and excessive draught. Please use within 6 months of the packing date shown on the bag, which is in a week/year format.

It improves your operation times because it’s pre-mixed and sets fast (approximately 10 minutes). This means you can fix the post in exactly the right way without having to support it for too long.

It is available in showerproof, tear-resistant plastic packaging within the UK.

HOW TO USE RAPID SET POST MIX CONCRETE

These instructions are designed to help you get the best out of Rapid Set Post Mix:

1 Dig a hole to the required size for the post.

2 Half fill the hole with water and then place the post in the hole.

3 Rapid Set Post Mix is pre-mixed and it can be emptied straight from the bag into the hole.

4 For optimum results, ensure Rapid Set Post Mix is added uniformly around the post until it is above the level of the water. If any dry powder remains visible at this stage, add additional water until all the water is absorbed by the material.

5 Adjust the post into position and make sure it is supported until the material is set, which takes approximately ten minutes.

6 Once the concrete is set, cover it with earth, grass or the decorative aggregate of your choice.

COVERAGE PER BAG

The table below will help you calculate the amount of Rapid Set Post Mix you require:

General Purpose Masonry Mortar is a flexible product, ideal for a wide variety of applications.

Quality runs through everything we do and our General Purpose Masonry Mortar complies with BS EN 998-2. This kiln dried, pre-blended, factory produced 1:6 cement:sand mortar is easy to use and will stand the test of time.

It is available in showerproof, tear-resistant plastic packaging within the UK.

DATA SHEET

GENERAL PURPOSE MASONRY MORTAR

www.breedoncement.com

APPLICATIONS

General Purpose Masonry Mortar is suitable for brick laying, repointing, laying blocks, patio, paving slabs as well as general masonry repairs.

PROPERTIES

Available in a consistent, natural colour. This 1:6 cement:sand mortar can achieve your desired workability when you add water in small increments.

STORAGE

General Purpose Masonry Mortar should be stored in unopened bags clear of the ground, in cool dry conditions and protected from damp, frost, heat and excessive draught. Please use within 6 months of the packing date shown on the bag, which is in a week/year format.

HOW TO MIX GENERAL PURPOSE MASONRY MORTAR

These mixing instructions are designed to help you get the best out of General Purpose Masonry Mortar:

• Segregation can take place during transit, which is why we recommend you thoroughly mix the bag contents before use.

• To mix we recommend you either mix the contents of the bag in a mechanical mixer for 3-4 minutes or hand mix on a clean, flat surface using 2 to 2.4 litres of clean water per bag. It’s important when you hand mix to add water slowly and mix continuously, stopping to test the mixture of the mortar until you get the consistency you want.

• The mortar should be used within an hour of water being added.

• Moisture loss can happen very quickly where temperatures are high and in high absorbency masonry units. The best way to avoid this is to pre-wet the masonry units.

• If you add too much water, the mix will be weaker, it will take longer to set and the overall performance of the mortar will be impaired.

• One of the main benefits of General Purpose Masonry Mortar is that all plasticisers and workability aids are incorporated into the mix, which means you don’t have to add anything to maximise the performance of the product.

• Once laid we recommend you protect the finished product against the effects of frost, rain, arid or windy conditions by covering it with plastic sheeting or hessian.

COVERAGE PER BAG

One bag of General Purpose Masonry Mortar will give you approximately 12 litres of fresh mortar which should be enough to lay 20 standard house bricks or 12 x 100mm blocks laid with a uniform 10mm joint.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Contact between cement powder and body fluids (e.g., sweat and eye fluids) may cause irritation, dermatitis or burns. For further information, including control of soluble hexavalent chromium, refer to the appropriate Breedon Cement Material Safety Data Sheets.
