The impermeability of this application has proved itself over many years of use. In addition, in-house laboratory tests for moisture, temperature- and UV-resistance have demonstrated the long-term reliability of this joint.

Klöber’s universal ventilation and ducting solutions can be used with various metal roof profiles. Alongside vents, the product range includes various outlets for flue and ventilation systems as well as for solar pipes. With the self-adhesive collar, products can be quickly attached to metal surfaces without special tools – no additional mechanical fixing is required. The glued joints with the metal surface are permanently waterproof

when installed properly - especially at the joint opposite the water-flow direction. Furthermore the glue jointing allows free positioning of the application on the surface of roofs. The complicate laying of additional apron plated all the way to the roof ridge can thus be omitted.

In accordance with IFBS guidelines, with roof outlets a problem-free water supply is to be ensured. In particular, near the transverse joint at the side of the ridge, running in the opposite direction to water flow, a permanent seal is an essential part of a functioning inter-section solution. Klöber’s universal outlets, used in combination with sealant and fixing adhesive, make a permanent, watertight bond with the metal surface possible. As a result, outlets are fully repositionable. The following handling guidelines, however, should be observed:

� Avoid standing water in the area to the side of the ridge by using an appropriate base (e.g. corrugation filler)

� Quick applicaion of an open flame to the transverse joint to remove the oil film covering the metal and reduce the surface tension of the skirting material

� Complete sealing of the abutting edge with sealing and fixing adhesive

Universal flue gas outlet

This outlet is equipped with a flue gas adapter and is suitable for flue gas system outlets attached to low- temperature heating systems, up to 120°C (e.g. oil or gas boilers), or ventilation outlets. For roof pitches from 5°-45°.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE VENTILATION SOLUTIONS

Klöber has a range of specialist products with excellent ventilating properties particularly for applications which demand high air extraction performance, (e.g. kitchen extractor hoods, controlled ventilation). The range includes, for a start, roof pass-through sets for various roof materials as well as various ventilation pipes and roof vents.

With the exception of line breathers (diameter 110 mm), all ventilation pipes are insulated to prevent condensation.

HEALTHY LIVING THROUGH CLEAN INDOOR AIR

Clean, healthy indoor air is not a given. In their living spaces, people and pets are constantlly exposed to impurities in the air. A house must be able to breathe in order to remain healthy and consequently be able to provide a healthy indoor climate. Well-insulated houses need an efficient ventilation system to refresh and cleanse indoor air. Stale and damp air (from dust, odours, smoke, boiling water and sanitary facilities, for example), which are not borne out of the building in a controlled way, sooner or later cause serious harm.

Effective ventilation is also a requirement in commercial and industrial areas, since additional impurities can arise from machines, installations or, in industrial areas, raw materials and chemicals. It is preferable to get rid of waste air from domestic appliances throught the roof, since in this way, noise and odours can be minimised. Klöber vent pipes and roof fans, in combination with the various roof pass-through sets as part of a ventilation system, ensure a constantly healthy indoor climate and help prevent moisture damage.

VENDUCT® PRODUCT SYSTEM OVERVIEW

As standard, all Venduct® are equipped with a factory-applied butyl sealing that ensures a permanent rainproof installation of the base tile. The seal is protected by foil, so that bonding only takes place at installation. The base tiles also have 6 fixing points on the flange. Fixing is achieved by means of the special screw/washer combinations provided, meaning all the components for a quick, permanent and rainproof installation are included in the box.

The custom-fit Venduct® system is suitable for fitting on flat and profiled metal roofs. The product system has proved itself over many years in the pitched roof sector and includes ventilation solutions for line breathers and room ventilation as well as for rainproof ducting of antenna poles, solar and waste gas pipes.

The Klöber pipe sealing kits ensure that pipes, rods, masts or electrical lines are lead through the roof without compromising the waterproof properties. The flexible EPDM seal gives the pipe the necessary freedom of movement for temperature-related changes inlength, while at the same time guaranteeing a watertight seal around the duct. The collars are made from high-quality EPDM rubber with a flexible aluminium flange, which distinguishes itself by its high resistance to weathering, ozone and temperature changes.

In addition, the EPDM rubber used is acid- and alkali-resistant, meaning these products can also be used in industrial areas. Collars are available in seven different sizes with a diameter of 12 to 660 mm, the Retrofit collars (for existing pipes) in two sizes with a diameter of 10-100 mm and 100-230 mm. All pipe sealing collars are available as a complete kit.

Easy-Form® and Easy-Form® plus are the universal solutions for connecting the roofing material to ascending or penetrating components (e.g. wall, dormer or chimney connections). In addition, the material is ideal for use with skylights and can, due to its highly-flexible characteristics, also be used to make a seal around smaller penetrating components, such as steel poles. It can also be used to repair roof materials.

RIDGE ROLLS FOR OPTIMAL AIR CIRCULATION AND

RAINPROOFINGRollable ridge solutions are suitable for making rainproof joins. Used with trapezoid or sandwich components, the beading between the profiles in the ridge area (gabled roof) underneath the ridge sheet is shut off from the rain, meaning there is no need to use profile fillers.

In addition, the used of ridge rolls, in combination with the corresponding ventilation in the area of the eaves makes optimal air circulation under the metal roof covering possible. Any condensation forming on the underside of the steel panels can escape through the ventilating ridge rolls.

Eaves element, with or without comb

This reliable ventilation system for eaves even bridges gutter brackets. There is no need for additional battens and no buildup of water can form in the event of rainfall. This eaves element with comb prevents the entry of birds and vermin into the counter batten cavity without restricting ventilation.

Eaves filler comb

The eaves filler comb is a simple and effective way of preventing birds and vermin from entering the batten cavity whilst allowing airflow into the batten cavity. Can be installed separately or retrofitted to existing eaves ventilation components. The comb fits perfectly any profile to which is is fitted.

Eaves closer roll

Klöber eaves closer rolls are suitable for all back-ventilated façades and roofs. They prevent the entry of birds and vermin into the batten cavity, but, with its optimally-sized holes, enable a very high level of ventilation. In addition, the practical box dispenser, with a 60 m roll enables installation in one piece.

Problem solver with no compromises, for roof and façadesThe rainproof, 5-layer and vapour-permeable Permo® sec SK forms a perfect, separating layer between metal roof covering and substructure for all metal roofs. In accordance with DIN 68800-2 (Wood preservation - Part 2: Preventive constructional measures in buildings), a structured separating layer with a water-absorbing layer must always be provided for pitched, fully insulated, non-

ventilated roof structures with metal cladding on formwork or cladding. Accumulated condensate can be discharged to the outside through the drainage layer. This prevents moisture from entering the roof construction. The use of a structured separating layer is also recommended for roof ducts, dormers and canopies.

PERMO® SEC SK

Area of applicationPermo® sec SK is suitable for all back-ventilated and non-back- ventilated metal roofs and metal façades. With its high-quality, elastic fabric it maintains a constant gap between the rainwater-carrying Permo® membrane and metal sheet. Due to the pre-assembled butyl rubber adhesive strip, installation at pitches from ≥ 3° is possible.

By using a separating layer with drainage function under a metal roof, any acoustic bridging effects are substantially reduced.

Installation can be parallel to the eaves or to the verge. In the process, the ridge area points in the direction of the ridge or opposite-facing verge. Thanks to the 1.5 m membrane width, installation is easy.

Over the period of time that a roof is possibly exposed to the elements, a roof must have a layer of protection (e.g. counter battens). Measures to protect the roof from rain may be advisable in the case of longer UV exposure, as Permo® sec SK is not intended to function as temporary roofing.

GRID SEC

Area of applicationThe separating layer provides a drainage path to the guttering for condensation which occurs on the underside of the metal panels. As a separating layer for back-ventilated and non-back ventilated structures of all metal coverings in standing seam technology, Grid sec, when combined with a suitable membrane, such as Permo® is extremely suited for use on pitched roofs and façades.

Installation instructionsIn contrast to the laying of Permo® sec SK, Grid sec should only be laid parallel to the metal sheets. Only a simple mounting of the fabric is needed, as the final fixing is done together with the metal sheets. In this way it is possible to benefit from the advantages of a separation layer with drainage function in different aspects of the building process.

Depending on the roof construction, it is advisable to install a vapour-permeable underlay when laying metal coverings. The high vapour permeability in combination with a reliable ventilation at the ridge and eaves, ascending moist air can be dissipated via the roof. The high watertightness of the underlay protects the layers under the roof covering from rain and wind-driven snow penetration. The underlay protects the roof construction and is especially preventing moisture build up and any mois ture from entering the roof construction.

The use of underlays can also be useful in connection with trapezoidal profiles as roofing. Non-insulated trapezoidal profiles, due to their good heat conduction, tend to form condensation on the underside. To overcome this problem often used anti-condensation fleeces have only a limited water absorption capacity and therefore come to their limits in buildings, in which much moisture is created. Moreover, the moisture stored in the fleece can lead to rotting in the wood.

By using roofing membranes, draining condensate is permanently absorbed and reliably dissipated. In addition, the underlay ensures the formation of an insulating air layer, which significantly reduces the moisture present under the profile, thus avoiding condensation on the underside.
