SUMMER 2016-VOLUME 2-NUMBER 3

So much is happening these days in Early Achievers! It’s an exciting time to be working alongside so many dedicated child care providers across the state who are making a difference for children and families every day. If you are new to Early Achievers, welcome! We honor your commitment to provide high-quality child care to every child you serve. Thank you for joining!

As you’ve no doubt heard by now, more providers are joining every day and this means more opportunities for Early Achievers providers to get to know one another and form lasting professional relationships. In fact, we hear from providers all the time that the relationships they form with other providers and with their Child Care Aware of Washington Early Achievers representatives are among the most important benefits of Early Achievers.

Back to what’s new and happening these days - did you know that all providers that joined Early Achievers between 7/1/15 and 7/1/16 are eligible for a $500 cash incentive from the Department of Early Learning? We’ve been hearing about some of the great new materials providers are purchasing for their programs with these funds.

Also, DEL recently announced several new policies. Here’s a brief rundown:

Early Achievers Rating Renewal policy – this policy sets the rules and requirements for Early Achievers Providers’ three-year rating renewals. Some of the first providers to join Early Achievers are already preparing for their rating renewals.

Early Start Act Early Achievers Remedial Activities policy – this policy sets the rules and requirements for providers who do not meet rating requirements within required Early Start Act timelines. For example, if a provider licensed before 7/1/16 does not reach a Level 3 by 12/3/19, they must participate in six months of remedial activities that are designed to help them reach Level 3.

Early Start Act Early Achievers Quality Improvement Awards policy – this policy, effective 7/1/16, sets the rules and requirements for providers to earn the annual Early Achievers Quality Improvement Award.

As always, if you have any questions or need help with your Early Achievers activities don’t hesitate to contact your local CCA of WA Early Achievers representative. Again, thank you for your hard work and dedication to Washington’s youngest children!

Noticias De Early Achievers
