Mariaelena Ruiz is the Director of the Professional Training Program & Artistic Director of the Cary Ballet Company. A beloved, internationally renowned master ballet teacher, Mariaelena was the ballet mistress & rehearsal coach of the Rock School in Philadelphia for 15 years, where she prepared many exceptionally talented dancers for the world’s most respected professional companies. In 2016 Mariaelena was honored as ADC Coach of the Year. In 2017, she was
Dance Teacher Magazine’s April Cover and Feature Story and in 2019 she received the YAGP Finals Outstanding Teacher Award.

Serving dedicated students age 12-19, who are focused on a professional career. Students become engulfed in a well-rounded training regimen, polishing their technical skills, building necessary
stamina & evolving as artists. Our dancers will gain an invaluable edge as they enter the competitive phase of auditioning for and working within professional companies.
Students typically have 5-6 hours of classes & coaching on weekdays. Classes include daily technique, pointe/variations, partnering, jazz, contemporary, stretch/conditioning/Pilates,
repertoire, rehearsal, & choreography. Saturdays include Ballet Company class and additional rehearsals. We take pride in offering
personal attention and thoughtful career guidance in a small, nurturing environment.
Yearly tuition: $5,550 (subject to change)
Room & Board available for selected students: $10,800 (subject to change)

Professional Training Program students will be challenged to
understand and interpret various dance and performing styles
through the carefully designed curriculum as well as performing
with our resident pre-professional Cary Ballet Company.
