Safety Policy A safety and environment philosophy is normally developed for

the project. It is formulated to ensure that hazards, which affect

the safety of the personnel, the integrity of the facilities and

conversation of the environment, are properly and adequately

considered .In doing so, all are introduced onto the execution of

the work to ensure the retention of good and well proven

engineering practices thought.

Probable hazards are established by comprehensive analysis. The

appropriate safety and environment systems and procedure are

then incorporated into the project.

The Principal Objectives are:

To provide a safe working environment for personnel

To minimize the potential of hazardous occurrence.

To avoid exposure to the potential hazards.

To contain or minimize the effect of hazards.

To provide the means of escape from the hazards.

To provide environment protection.

Material Mill Certificates submittal and approval:

The certificates are reviewed as per our requirements. The

certificates which are matching your our requirements will be

submitted to the client for the approval. To avoid usage of non-

equivalent materials.

Material Receiving:

While receiving the material all the sections are visually

inspected to avoid pitted, rusted, laminated are bent materials.

Material Placing;

All the material is placed in a reasonably leveled area on the

supports, which is suitable to fabricate.

Identification of Material:All the received raw materials are dimensionally identified to

required sizes. All heat numbers and grades are verified

according to approved mill certificates. The Q.C personal will

generate in-word material document for clients review and to

avoid unspecified material usage.

Traceability of materialThe raw materials which are under fabrication will be marked

for traceability with the permanent mental marker on the left

over materials. This will avoid the miss-usages of specified

grades at the time of using the left over materials.

Marking: The raw material marking is the important activity in the

fabrication. This activity done by a technician who can read

the drawing .While marking the cutting plans will be provided

to the technicians to avoid the wastage of raw materials.

Ph: 06-7464641 Fax: 06-7464642 email: [email protected] www.sigmaengg.com

Page 21: Profile

The standard measuring instruments are used for marking to

get the dimensions with in the tolerances .The cutting

allowances will be taken care at the time of marking. All the

markings, developments, layouts will be verified and inspected

by the Q.C. personnel. The dimensions are verified by the Q.C.

personnel to maintain the tolerances

Cutting Activities:

The raw materials are mild steel or carbon steel the oxy-

acetylene process will be used. While cutting tolerances will be

taken care.

Edge Preparation:

To prepare the edges, approved drawings are verified, to find the

weld methods. Based on the weld method, edge preparation will

be carried out All the preparation are monitored by the Q.C.

Personal, before the fit up process proceeds.

Fit- up process:

Before starting the fit up all items are verified with approved

drawings by the technician to avoid the dimensional errors all

the edges are checked as per given weld methods. The fit-up will

be made by the help of clamps and special tools.

Welding Process:

Welding process is very important process in the mechanical

fabrication and construction activity. All welding processes are

confirmed and qualified before starting the job. The welder has

to be qualified on the required welding process before any

fabrication can be started. For Mild Steel and Carbon Steel the

low hydrogen E-7018 electrodes will be used. All the lot and

batch certificates for these electrodes will be submitted to the
