A technology from the 1990s called dye sublimation was perfected in the last yearsallowing high resolution yet fast printing of color rich photos using small inexpensive printers.Dye sublimation works by transferring heat to a special three color component coated withspecial chemicals that turn into gas that bonds to the printing material surface. Dyesublimation creates high quality high resolution photo digital prints.

Over the years printing technologies advanced allowing cheaper and smaller printers todeliver better and faster printing results. Printing first appeared in the fourteen hundreds withthe invention of the printing press. The printing press revolutionized the printing process andallowed for the first time for mass printing of books and documents. The printing press was abulky mechanical device that eventually led to today small cheap and efficient home and officeprinters.

Printers today are ubiquitous you can find printers everywhere at home in the office andpoint of sale and more. Printers are used for different purposes from simple black and whitedigital printing to super large color rich street posters. Different technologies are different fordifferent printing types.

Amore detailed definition of remanufacturing has been adopted by The RemanufacturingInstitute (formerly the Remanufacturing Industries Council International).A product is considered remanufactured if: Its primary components come from a used product. Remanufacturers just replace the Toner in the CartridgesSingle re-use remanufacturers (so called refillers and drill and fill merchants)are cheating you and the environment. Professional remanufacturers replaceevery worn or damaged component in the cartridges. Imaging Drums (OPCDrums) should be cleaned, tested and replaced. Third Party Toner is not as good as the OEMs

Since the advent of Chemical Toner about 7 years ago almost all of the majorOEMs are shipping printer cartridges using this new technology. About 18months ago, this toner became available for the Remanufacturers and I wouldsay that the quality of both colour and greyscale achieved by theRemanufacturers is equivalent to the quality that the OEMs achieve.

Remanufacturers reuse Toner in their cartridgesHa!, if they did then none of the cartridges would work. Toner becomescontaminated during the printing process by paper dust and electrical chargesrendering it unusable. Every different Manufacturers cartridge model alsorequires different toner formulation. Combining contaminated toners would

compound problems.

Defective Toner cartridges damage printersToner Cartridges are largely self contained and make limited contact with therest of the printer. The worst that can happen is that toner from a failed cartridgemust be removed from the printer. All cartridges deposit some toner inside theprinter, and many of the new printers have a waste toner box to collect this.Properly remanufactured cartridges do not damage printers or create more wearthan cartridges that are properly assembled by or for printer makers. Removingtoner deposits is often part of routine maintenance for the printer.

Empty Cartridges returned to HP, Canon, Lexmark et al are ReusedOnly about 20% of cartridges are ever re-used.
