own expense). Following lunch, cruise to the open seas for a whale watching experience not to be missed.

The tour will include a comprehensive tour of rocky Point Sugar mill, australia’s oldest privately owned
sugar refinery. Built in 1897, the mill has been classified as a world class facility, self-sufficient and envi-
ronmentally sustainable, processing about 4,000 tonnes of cane and making 600 tonnes of raw crystal
sugar p/a. In 2002 a new boiler and powerhouse, known as a cogeneration plant, was installed, allowing
the mill crush and producing 30 mW/hr of renewable green electricity, or about 200gWh per annum.
Lunch during the day will include a stop at the 130 year old yatala pie shop culminating with a tour of one
of australia’s oldest distilleries. Note: dress requirement for both refinery and distillery is long sleeve shirt and long pants with closed shoes (not sand shoes).
