2 AOTrauma Masters Course—Foot and Ankle, Dresden, Germany
Welcome to Dresden
Dear colleagues,
The AOTrauma Foot and Ankle Course with practical exerciseson anatomical specimens teaches current concepts and tech-niques at the Masters level. The latest techniques in operativemanagement of fractures and dislocations at the foot andankle including complex bony and soft-tissue injuries arepresented. Furthermore, strategies for reconstruction after bonyand soft tissue trauma with and without joint preservation aswell as the most frequent degenerative and acquired footdeformities will be addressed.
This course is aimed at experienced surgeons who are willingto share and express their experiences with other participantsand specialists in the field and want to expand their specialknowledge on the evaluation and treatment of foot and ankleinjuries and deformities.
Topics will be presented in an open, case-based manner focus-ing on pitfalls and complications. Practical exercises at anatom-ical specimens are an essential part of this course andparticipants will have ample time to practice a variety of ap-proaches and selected fixation techniques.
Small group discussions, moderated by experts, provide partici-pants with the opportunity to discuss specific problems in Foot& Ankle Trauma and Orthopaedics with various teaching cases.Participants are explicitly encouraged to bring at least one casethat they believe to be either instructional or complex for dis-cussion—to send in to one of the course chairmen at least 2weeks prior to the course.
Finally, we would like to invite all participants and faculty to thehistoric downtown of Dresden for the course dinner and en-courage them all to spend some extra time to explore thebeauty of this more than 800 years old town and its pictur-esque surroundings.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to this course
