Program Descriptions
Wee One Hour Join us for thematic stories, songs, craft projects and activities tailored to our “wee ones” ages 5 and under. Meet in the Imagination Station for story time, followed by a craft.
Indoor Snowball Fight It’s a snowball fight by our Mighty Oak tree. Use one of our “indoor snowballs” to join in the fun.
Pint-Sized Picassos Paint a masterpiece in our Imagination Station! Open painting is available on our art easels.
Wiggle, Move and Giggle Dance, sing and move with your toddler. Join this playful program full of games, music and movement activities. Move and groove while learning about colors, shapes and numeracy. It’s bound to get you and your toddler wiggling and giggling.
Pancakes & PJs with Olaf (pre-registered) Join us for this first time event with your favorite snowman! Wear your pajamas to the museum and have breakfast with Olaf! Special activities include: pancake breakfast, craft, hot chocolate bar, and story time with our very own Olaf! Bring your camera and warm hugs for this morning of cozy family fun. Celebrate Art Weekend Wisconsin Children's Museums around the state are ready to have imaginations run wild on January 25-27 for the Celebrate Art Weekend. Each Museum will have various programs that encourage creative exploration, discovery and art!
Just Dance- Bust a move along with video dances to learn steps to your favorite songs.
All Hands On Art Collaborative Project- Join us in the Imagination Station to get your hands on helping us with a collaborative piece of art that will be displayed in the museum.
Celebrate Art Stations- Grab a passport and stop by our various art stations to learn and create art from around the world.
Strings & Sculpting- Research shows that music increases focus and productivity. Drop into the Imagination Station to listen to children musicians play stringed instruments while sculpting a clay project to take home. Free with paid admission.
Snowman Blocks ($5) Buy a project ticket at our front desk to make a wooden block snowman decoration for the winter season. This will be the perfect centerpiece or gift for someone special. *Projects available while supplies last.
Painting & Pizza (pre-registered) Drop off your little artists for a night of painting with a break for PIZZA! During this two-hour program, your child will create a large snowman on a wooden board. Parents are welcome to take the class along with children, but all participants must pay full price and be registered. Recommended for ages 6-12. Full Members $25/ No-Frills/Non-Members $30 Register at www.gbchildrensmuseum.org to reserve your spot. Space is limited. Museum play not included. No refunds.
Recycled Art Studio Let your imagination run wild by creating and inventing. Use recycled items and our featured art supplies to make a real work of art.
CD Snowmen Drop into the Imagination Station to transform a common CD into a snowman! It’ll be a cute project to take home and decorate for winter.
Snowman Story Time Featuring our Olaf Olaf, your favorite snowman, is back for a special story time. Bring your camera and enjoy a story time about snowmen, followed by a craft.
For the Birds Stop in our Imagination Station and make a bird feeder that you can take home and put in your tree. Watch the birds flock to your work of art!
Neighborhood Night Won’t you be our neighbor? We are opening our doors with FREE admission for all! Bring your family to the museum for a night of fun. Clay Play ($3)
Make a pinch pot, dish or creation of your own with our air dry clay, tools and paints to take home. Purchase an art project ticket at the front desk for $3 and drop in for Clay Play!
Frosty Science Saturday Brrrr…. It’s cold outside! There is so much to learn about the snow, ice and cold. Drop into our science stations for frosty themed science activities and experiments. It’s winter science fun for the entire family.
Blizzard Blow-Out Join us for this STEAM program that incorporates art and science as you create your own snowflakes to send through our wind tube. It’s a blizzard blow-out that allows you to discover the force of gravity and properties of wind.
Snow Day Science Science is “snow much fun” and we will show you how with our winter themed science experiments. Join us in the Imagination Station to see how “cool” science can really be.
After School Art Beat the winter blues and register your little artists to learn art techniques and lessons through thematic winter projects. A session includes 4, hour-long classes and at least 3 projects to take home. Full Members $40 /No Frills & Non-Members- $50 Ages 5-11. Playtime not included. No refunds. Buddy Up Playdate Everything is better with a buddy! We are hosting a weekly play date in our Imagination Station. Meet and mingle with other caregivers and their children while interacting with our play stations. Then play with your new buddies in the exhibits when they open at 10am.
Toothbrush Painting It’s Dental Health Week, so “Goodbye Paintbrushes” and “Hello Toothbrushes!” Stop into the Imagination Station to create your own work of art created with a toothbrush.
