CROSSROADS MINISTRY is a Christian service agency helping Estes Valley residents in need, includingthe temporarily unemployed who receive short-term assistance, and the working poor or persons with low fixed incomes who receive ongoing services. Crossroads Ministry partners with numerous other agencies to maximize benefits to clients, and encourages self-sufficiency through educational opportunities.

All persons are treated equally regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, creed, political belief, sex, gender expression, sexual orientation or identity, age, physical or mental ability, veteran status, and marital status.

75% of the assistance Crossroads provided to the Estes Valley in 2017 was connected with food. During that period, Crossroads served 435 families comprising 996 adults and 308 children.

SERVICES INCLUDE Ô Food services, twice monthly or

more frequently in emergency circumstances, to alleviate or prevent hunger. Special food distribution for Holiday’s.

Ô Temporary housing assistance to prevent rental eviction or morgage foreclosure for non-payment; and temporary emergency lodging.

Ô Meals on Wheels supplies a well-balanced nutritious meal to people who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

Ô Utility assistance to prevent or reverse shut-off of utilities due to non-payment, including electricity, gas, propane, other fuels; assistance in completing the application to the LEAP program.

Ô Assistance with costs of medical, dental, prescriptions, mental health services.

Ô Limited transportation assistance, including costs of gasoline for essential and emergency travel.

Ô Vouchers for clothing, household goods, laundry and shower services.

Ô Compassionate personalized case management and referrals to a wide range of community agencies and services for additional resources and assistance.

SELF-SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM FOR VOUCHER SERVICESCrossroads Ministry provides Money Matters and Energy Conservation classes(in English and Spanish), including credit counseling and goal-setting, with additional one-on-one coaching andpersonalized case management.Crossroads was one of the first agencies in Colorado to require its clients to complete a money management course. The course is required in order to receive ongoing voucher assistance services.
