Its operating units include an electric utility serving 2.2 million customers in Southeastern Michigan, and a natural gas utility serving 1.2 million customers throughout Michigan. Home Protection Plus (HPP) appliance repair protection plans are offered by Home Protection Plus, a Division of DTE Energy Company. With a Home Protection Plus appliance repair protection plan, key appliances—based on the plan level selected—are automatically covered when they need repair. Marketing Objectives DTE Energy’s Home Repair Protection Plus (HPP) looked to develop a marketing program that would increase warranty acquisition rates to their plans. They wanted a high-value, low- cost solution that was easy to implement and communicate to customers. Our Solution DTE Energy’s HPP partnered with Entertainment ® to offer a $200 or $500 Discount Dining Dollars Card as a value-added benefit to anyone who purchases a HPP Plan. Card holders have access to a custom branded DTE Discount Dining Dollars Site provided by Entertainment ® , where they receive up to 50% off meals at over 60,000 restaurants. Customers appreciate the high value of their Dining Dollars. The cards provide immediate, convenient access to everyday savings at local merchants where they live, work, and travel. In addition to popular dining offers, customers can redeem for entertainment and shopping discounts. This high-value, low-cost solution (only 3-5% of card value) also allows DTE to track subscriber shopping behavior and capture other relevant customer data. DTE saw their acquisition rates increase significantly compared to other incentives and are long-time clients. ENERGY
