The iProx is a field programmable and adaptable inductive proximity sensor with SmartSense™ technol-ogy. SmartSense utilizes an exclusive, embedded micro-processor, allow-ing the iProx to perform unique sensing functions at extended sens-ing ranges.

These capabilities include Band Sensing, Position Sensing and Background Metal Rejection. Band Sensing allows the iProx to sense within a distance or band, while ignoring all other spaces. Position Sensing allows the iProx to operate when a target reaches a specific point in the X, Y, Z coordinates. Back-ground Rejection is an exclusive capability where the iProx ignores side-ground, fore-ground or back-ground metal objects. Plus, you can program the iProx to sense at a spe-cific sensing range. If you can use a mouse, you can program these fea-tures into your iProx sensor through a remote programmer, your com-puter, and step-by-step configura-tion software.

The iProx offers the utmost flexibility in both design and manufacturing. This means you may order the iProx sensor pre-configured at the factory to your unique specification. Or pro-gram it to adapt it to your environ-ment at your site, reducing inventory and costly downtime.

Innovation is what you expect from Eaton’s Cutler-Hammer, because we know our business and your needs. Thinking ahead, we’re incorporating new features into the iProx. Watch for them soon.

Model Selection — Accessories

Wiring Diagrams

(Pin numbers are for reference, rely on pin location when wiring)

Note: Pin numbers 2 and 4 are internally jumpered together. Either pin may be used.

Specifications — iProx Sensor

iProx sensors may be programmed to perform in Side by Side or High Noise immunity applications using the Eaton’s Cutler-Hammer iProx Remote Programmer (E59RP1) & Programming Software (E59SW1)

Use the Side by Side response time parameter when mounting iProx sensors closer than 7x its maximum sensing range. Refer to the SoftwareInstallation & Usage Guide (P50228) for specific mounting details.
