Look at the pictures and discuss the different activities he or she could do and what advice you would give him or her. Decide which would be the best hobby. Use the Test-Taking Tips to help you. TEST-TAKING TIPS ? discuss with a partner Think carefully about the task before you look at the pictures. It is sometimes easier to start with the pictures you don’t want to choose. Say why they are not a good idea. You can agree or disagree with your partner, but be polite and give reasons. Give reasons for your opinions and remember to ask your partner for his or her opinion. Extend: Schoolchildren 2 Work in pairs. Student A describes his or her photo to Student B, giving as many details as possible. Student B listens to Student A and then describes his or her photo to Student A. Use the Test-Taking Tips to help you. TEST-TAKING TIPS ? describe a photograph Try to talk for about a minute. Don’t interrupt your partner while he or she is speaking. Use There is ... / There are ... to describe what you see. Say what the people are doing. Use the present progressive. If you’re not sure, you can guess what’s happening (e.g., Perhaps they are ... ). When you have finished describing your photo, you can say whether or not you like it. Give reasons for your opinions.
