Experience:Mr. Gerwick has over 4 years of experience in the field of architecture. Hehas worked on several fire rescue, public safety and municipal projects.His expertise centers around conceptual design, space planning,systems integration, design development, construction documents andconstruction administration for public safety facilities.
He has extensive experience in extreme weather hardened facilitiesincluding building envelope detailing, exterior equipment protection,glazing protection, and site security. While dealing with the mostcritical of facilities, he is devoted to designing sophisticated projects thatincorporate sustainable practices. Natural day lighting, solar shadingand energy efficient design strategies are at the core of his philosophy.
In addition to his experience in the design phase, Mr. Gerwick strivesto coordinate and involve the engineering consultants, owner andend user throughout the process in order to create a more thoughtful,efficient and fleshed out design.
His experience in construction administration tasks include permitsubmittals, RFI and permit review responses, shop drawing review, andsite meeting and field reports.

Representative Experience
West Villages Fire Station #1 - West Villages Improvement District, North Port, FL — Kimley-Hornworked closely with the West Villages Improvement District (VVVID) and the City of North Port todesign and permit a 9,300-square-foot fire station facility located on 3.26 acres in the City of NorthPort in Sarasota County. The project includes the fire station building, associated parking, trainingarea, a helicopter pad, and enhanced landscaping to meet the requirements of the WVID. As qualityassurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviewer, provided QA/QC review of the plans. As a requirementof the WVID standards, the project's design also incorporates the guidelines for low impact designfrom the Southwest Florida Water Management District, including reduced turf coverage, nativelandscape plantings, previous pavement, and vegetative swales, to name a few. The project iscurrently 100% designed, permitted, and awaiting the start of construction. Construction has beendelayed by the City of North Port due to the current economic conditions.
Gordon River Greenway Park, Collier County, FL — Served as project planner on the Kimley-Hornteam that provided design services for Gordon River Greenway Park. Our multidisciplinary teamcollaborated with County staff, related agencies, and the public to develop a creative, integrated,multifunctional park. The beauty of this site will awe citizens while keeping them informed about theimportance of restoration and water quality. The facility planning and design will address inevitablehuman impact and stress the potential for a healthy, sustainable ecosystem. The resulting project willbe a beautifully landscaped passive park with meandering trails, boardwalks, pavilions, shelters, anda wetland preserve. Behind these elements, the facility will provide attenuation of peak flood stagesand water quality treatment.
Sarasota Memorial Public Health System, Venice Urgent Care Center, Venice, FLRedevelopment of a 1.56 acre parcel in Venice, FL. Kimley-Horn provided the civil design servicesfor a 12,500-SF urgent care center and physicians' offices. Tasks included a new stormwatermanagement system, parking area, landscaping, and utility connections. Services included permitsubmittals to the City of Venice, Southwest Florida Water Management District, and FloridaDepartment of Transportation.
North Collier Boulevard Improvements, Marco Island, FL — Served as project manager providingdesign, permitting, and construction phase services for 2.4 miles of roadway reconstructionimprovements including a continuation of the themed hardscape and landscape improvements,specialty lighting, enhanced pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and pedestrian furnishings. Alongwith appearance and usage enhancements, curbing and drainage improvements were completed.Specific responsibilities included development of the 60% roadway plans, submittal to the watermanagement district, responding to the City's 60% comments, and finalizing the plan set. Additionalduties included coordination of the multidisciplinary roadway, utilities, traffic signals, and landscapearchitecture team. Served as the overall project manager for the design phase and as projectmanager for the construction administration.
North Port Gardens (aka Gulf Coast Gardens), North Port, FL — Project manager responsiblefor overseeing due diligence and land use research; development of, and assisting in, land userecommendations; visioning/charrette; and land use analysis and permitting processes, includingassisting on the development of regional impact for a 514-acre site located in the City of North Port.The project proposes a mixed-use commercial and office and residential development incorporatingsignificant wetland and environmental preservation. The project proposes approximately 2 millionsquare feet of combined power center and lifestyle commercial areas, approximately 150,000 squarefeet of office, 450 hotel rooms, and approximately 500 residential units. Tasks include preapplicationcoordination, preliminary development agreement development, and application for developmentapproval (ADA) coordination and preparation.

Burnt Store Road Design, Phase 3, Punta Gorda, FL— Serving as principal-in-charge for the Kimley-Horn team that is providingroadway design services on this project for Charlotte County. Tasks include drainage design; utility design; permitting and coordinationwith USACE, FDEP, Charlotte County, and SWFWMD; signing and marking signalization design; traffic studies; public involvement;maintenance of traffic; structural design; landscape architecture; and construction engineering and inspection (CEI). The Kimley-Hornteam is using several innovative production and design processes, including low impact development (LID), photogrammetric mapping,phased construction.
Celery Fields Regional Park Sarasota County, FL - Served as civil engineer. Kimley-Horn provided design, planning, and communityinvolvement services related to the park projects. Master plan components for Celery Fields included: environmental enhancement andrestoration of the site agricultural areas; a five-trail system; hard trails for bicycles and rollerblades; soft trails for walking and jogging;a waterfront plaza; an interactive fountain and promenade; an interpretive signage system; provisions for a kayak and canoe launch; avisitor's center with restrooms; and a design to celebrate site history and bird watching activities.
Sumter Boulevard Improvements, Phases ll and III, North Port, FL Serving as project manager. Providing engineering designservices to widen the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway from the intersection of US 41 Tamiami Trail north; PhaseII extends to Heron Creek Boulevard and Phase III extends to Morandi Avenue. Services include signalization, new bridge design,enhancing the bicycle and pedestrian features along the corridor, stormwater management, utility relocation, intersection improvements,and CEI services.
South Collier Boulevard Improvements, Marco Island, FL. — Project manager overseeing a variety of services, including roadwaydesign, utility adjustments, landscape architecture/hardscape, corridor planning, and public involvement coordination for this project toimprove the South Collier Boulevard roadway in the City of Marco Island.
Colonia Lane Improvements, Sarasota County, FL — Project engineer involved in evaluating roadway/intersection improvements alongthis corridor for Sarasota County. The objective of this review was to provide efficient traffic flow and improve safety on this roadway. Aspart of this review, recommendations were provided regarding the restriction or modification of access from/to existing cross-streets anddriveways and the implementation of landscaped medians and roadside areas within the specific right-of-way.
Gran Paradiso, North Port, FL — Served as project planner. Gran Paradiso is a high-end residential community located at the WestVillages on 1,068 acres in the City of North Port. Composed of 1,000 single-family and multi-family units, Gran Paradiso features anamenity center building with a resort-style pool, a neighborhood center, pocket parks, and multimodal paths.
IslandWalk at the West Villages, North Port, FL — Project manager responsible for overseeing due diligence, land use research, andpreparation of the Village District Pattern Plan to conform to the West Villages Pattern Book. Managed the preparation and presentationof three public workshops during multiple stages of the Village District Pattern Plan process. Provided design services for multiplephases of the subdivision construction plans. Coordinated plan and plats with the West Villages Improvement District. The projectconsists of 1,860 single-family lots, community amenity center, internal roads, and utility infrastructure. Additional tasks included permitcoordination with local, state, and federal agencies.
Pine Street Sidewalks Design/Permitting, Charlotte County, FL — Serving as project manager providing design, permitting, andconstruction phase services for this sidewalk design project on the east side of Pine Street from SR 776 to the Sarasota County line.The project has been successfully constructed by the County.
Charlotte Harbor CRA Gateway and Harbor, Charlotte Harbor, FL — Serving as project manager and principal-in-charge providingurban design and engineering services in support of revitalization efforts on behalf of the Charlotte Harbor Community RedevelopmentAgency. Kimley-Horn's first assignment was to prepare design documents and provide permitting services for the Harbor Walk projectconsisting of a pedestrian promenade and boardwalk connecting the east and west sides of Charlotte Harbor. The project utilizesthe old US 41 bridge abutment for parking and promenade area creating a trailhead for the boardwalk which crosses a section of theHarbor shoreline going under the US 41 bridge. Upon completion the Harbor walk will extend approximately one mile from ChesterRoberts Park to Bayshore Park.
