TTeam ATIS is responsible for creating user experience within the mission component of the project. From the launch to the countdown to real time space walk, team ATIS is focusing on creating online experience for middle school kids, teachers and parents. The mission will include the following key events:

setup of the satellite on the rocketlaunchspace station and release

turning on

Based on the needs of the client, the team classified the mission into four categories: Pre-Launch, Launch, In-

Space, and Reentry.

real time space walkslooking back at the earthastronaut experimentsreentry

Starting with brainstorming, the team will develop numerous conceptual ideas. Performing competitive analysis and extensive research will help to narrow down the idea list and identify gaps.Based on sketches and paper prototype, the initial wireframes will be created and tested. User testing will be performed, with minimum of twenty users. Wireframe iterations will be done after each user testing block. Iter-ation will also be changed based on the feedback from clients. Final wireframes will be presented to the client on November 10th, 2015.

Create online user experience, by providing visual aspects of the missionEncourage interactions to keep user engagement and re-engagementProvide seamless web usability Encourage parents, teachers and students to be actively involved in possible learning opportunities that the whole project may bring

1. story Line (story within the story). 2. daily tasks competition (kids come up with things for astronauts to do)3. “we will fly over your home”, kids enter their address and are notified with a message from above that the satellite is flying over their house. Could be real time or just imaginative. Instagram postings?4. astronauts say hello from space. Addressed to particular kid. Kids submit requests. Instagram or website or App. 5. daily broadcast from space that tells a story about earth and/or space., can be locally created6. map, always on, shows where exactly satellite is7. geography stories

ISDuring the research process, we did some brain storming upon various websites and organizations who have conducted a similar projects or research. During this process, we visited a few websites to see how they have been implemented. Our research allowed us to get a better undesrtanding of design, layout and content to be used in our prototype.

the concept of time line is hard to understand (part of reason is the limitation of paper prototype)3 users want to jump from state to stage.2 users think there is to many unnecessary click for the date orientation.all users think game and satellite tracking window are hard to find

most of the users are confused about what kind of information is shown in each stage10 users were confused about game playing and satellite tracking windows ( are they clickable? )3 users didn’t understand what will happened until they click the placeholder 1 user mentioned that the game is very unnoticeable since it is at the bottom right corner of the screen. He believes this place is usually for unimportant advertisement1 user thinks that the current information window is too complicated, each stage information is displayed in a different format. She expected to see a more universal way among each stage

the timeline is great but needs more efficient way to indicate time4 users didn’t realize the timeline is clickable2 users would like to see the spaceship to rotate or have a bar to indicate the exact date1 user was very excited about the rocket, it reminded of a game1 user suggest to delete the sliding window and only display the newest update as well as the gallery5 users ignored the “view gallery” button
