THE CONCEPT

The Guppy Lake Restoration Foundation (GLRF; non-profit organization) was founded by Dr. Nathaniel Borenstein in 1999. The main goal is for the GLRF to become a retreat for religious groups of all kinds to come together to study and learn from each other and find common-ground. Another one of its goals is to preserve the land that it is on for wildlife. The GLRF is in the early planning stages and it is possible for us to have a role in getting it going.

'Guppy Lake' is located north of Ann Arbor, near Greenbush, Michigan and includes about 70 acresof ponds and surrounding marsh and woodland.

The GLFRF site was used as an illegal dump for many years during a period of absentee ownership.

Trash that must be removed includes: scrap metal, old tires, old machine parts, old refrigerators, old car batteries, fencing wire, spools of industrial wire, insulation, carpet scraps, chemically-treated lumber (that may not be burned), glass bottles, cans, and other miscellaneous items.
