MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION Guidelines and Templates for PROJECT WORK 1. Project work period shall be from 1 st June to 31 st July of the year. Duration of the study will be 8 weeks. It carries 200 marks as per the University norms. 2. Students may identify company for the project work and make arrangements on their own, to conduct and complete the study. The organization should be one, preferably from outside the state and the period for the project work should be 60 days. Projects may be done outside India as well, if the student desires, with the permission of the course coordinator. 3. No student is allowed to change the organization of training assigned to him / her once assigned by the office. 4. Objectives of the training are: To provide an extensive exposure to the student and hands-on experience in a Corporate environment To ensure that the corporate gets adequate return from the student in terms of the money and time they spent on them during the training so that there is a mutual exchange of experience and learning To provide a platform for the corporate to test the reliability, quality and performance of the student and make a match for final job offer later, if they deem fit. 5. Projects are to be done on individual basis only. 6. Students are required to do a project work of a problem centered nature and the dissertation is to be submitted before the commencement of Fourth semester examination. 7. Project work should be done in a nationally or internationally reputed organization.

The organization should be one, preferably from outside the state and the period for the project work should be 60 days. 3. No student is allowed to change the organization of training assigned to him / her once assigned by the office.

4. Objectives of the training are:

To ensure that the corporate gets adequate return from the student in terms of the money and time they spent on them during the training so that there is a mutual exchange of experience and learning

To provide a platform for the corporate to test the reliability, quality and performance of the student and make a match for final job offer later, if they deem fit.

5. Projects are to be done on individual basis only.

8. Project study should be in the MAJOR functional area, chosen by the student.

9. Project work should be done strictly under the supervision of an executive allotted by the organization, who will act as corporate guide. Also there will be an internal faculty guide from DCSMAT and the student should send weekly progress report to the faculty guide.10. The student will be required to abide by the rules of the organization where he / she is undergoing training.

11. The corporate organization will be taking a strong view of the punctuality and behaviour of the student during the training and therefore the student will be required to be on their best behaviour and inculcate the good norms of the organization where they take the training.

12. In case the student has to take leave of absence, he / she will have to take permission from the organization and the faculty guide before they proceed on leave.

13. In case the student has to take up project-based work at the instance of the company, they should conduct it to their best of their capability. The faculty guide will be always available for advice and guidance.

14. No student should try to copy or use information in such a way that will project false and baseless conclusions for the company. All students are required to maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information they come across in the organization in the course of their training. In case of malpractice, the student shall be duly penalized.

15. Once the company is identified, students must communicate to the faculty guide through the Moodle page news forum link, created for the individual student for the purpose. This must be targeted to be done, before the students leave the campus for their study.

16. Students are to prepare three possible project topics in consultation with the guide. This may be preferably done, even before they join the organization, by discussing the project ideas in advance with the company identified, if feasible.17. One topic to be finalized by the student after discussing with the company officials concerned.

18. Students must convey the contact details (Company name and address, name of the person, e-mail, mobile, company phone) of the company guide to the faculty guide, who is identified to provide them guidance in their work in the organization, as soon as they report to the company for the work through e-mail or phone. These details are to be provided in the first report to be uploaded in the Moodle, as well.

19. Once these details are provided, faculty guide must contact the company guide and establish communication periodically to ensure that the student is progressing on the work assigned to him / her.

20. Weekly progress report is to be submitted to guide through Moodle. Weekly report should state clearly with the headings: (a) Tasks and activities done (b) Tasks pending to be done (c) Progress being made (d) Any other information

21. A certificate of attendance and company certificate should be obtained from the organization, before returning to the college campus, as a proof of the successful completion of the training and the same should be incorporated in the project report.

22. Student should submit an evaluation report (confidential as shown in Appendix 1) from the organization along with the relieving certificate at the completion of the study.

23. After completion, students to discuss the draft with the guide, incorporate the corrections and prepare the final report

24. All university requirements to be followed while submitting the report.

25. 2 copies to be submitted by each student.(+ one personal copy)

26. There will be comprehensive viva at the end of the fourth semester along with the evaluation of the project report.

27. Standard format for the reports as per approved template must be followed. No deviation will be entertained.
