Project: Airport 2 STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) | Contract Value: $400M

This STP, with CH2M HILL as the consultant and KBR as the process designer, was an EPC project with

estimated budget of $400 million on a land area of 410,000 m2. The STP’s planned treatment capacity

was 500,000 m3/day. The designed liquid treatment process included preliminary treatment (screening

and grit removal), primary clarification, secondary treatment (biological nutrient removal), secondary

clarification, tertiary treatment and disinfection. The solids treatment process included sludge

thickening, anaerobic digestion and dewatering. Biogas produced by the anaerobic digestion process

was planned to be used as a renewable and sustainable source of energy for cogeneration. The

designed total reinforced concrete quantity was 190,000 m3.

Project: K. A. International Airport | Contract Value: $300M

The design consultant of this project was Atkins. Our company’s final contract value was more than

$300 million. Our scope of work consisted of several packages, some of which were infrastructure

packages such as: Sewer Network (25,000 Lm), Storm Water Network (68,000 Lm), Potable Water

Network (2,500 Lm), Chilled Water Network (3,000 Lm), Fire Fighting Network (5,000 Lm), Grey Water

Network (9,000 Lm), Street Lighting Network (65,000 Lm), 9 Sewer Pump Stations, Grey Water Pump

Station, Landside Roads (160,000 Lm) and Road Tunnels. Other packages included buildings such as:

Car Park, Gate House and Plant Nursery Buildings.

Project: BNP Paribas Bank Headquarters | Contract Value: $50M

The contract value of this EPC project was $50 million. The new BNP Paribas headquarters is located on

a plot area of 7,175 m2 and is comprised of 2 basement floors, garden level, ground floor and 6 typical

floors. This reinforced concrete building had a total built-up area of 12,000 m2.

Senior Project Engineer | Samsung C&T Corporation | Mar 2005 to Nov 2009

Project: The American University in Cairo New Campus | Contract Value: $400M

The contract value of the project was US$ 400 million, and was built on a total area of 260 acre (about

1,052,183 m2) with Flour International Limited as the project’s PMCM. It consisted of Administration

Building, Centre for the Arts, Campus Centre, Core Academic Centre, sustainable landscape, Library,

Research Centres Building, School of Business, School of Global Affairs, School of Humanities and Social

Science, School of Sciences and Engineering, Sports Complex and Student Housing. All project

buildings are reinforced concrete structures. I was assigned in the School of Sciences and Engineering

which consists of a utility service tunnel and 6 connected 3-story buildings on a total area of 35,000 m2,

and about 30,000 m3 of reinforced concrete.

Junior Engineer | Consolidated Contractors Company | Nov 2001 to Jun 2004

Project: City Stars Commercial & Residential Complex | Contract Value: $600M

This project had a contract value of US$ 600 million, a land area of 115,000 m2 and a total constructed

built-up area of 784,470 m2. The project was divided into several zones containing a Commercial

Centre (Mall), several Residential Buildings (Hotel Furnished Apartments) and two 5-star Hotels. I was

assigned in one of the two 5-star Hotels (Intercontinental City Stars) which is a reinforced concrete

building consisting of 18 stories above ground and 4 stories underground. The hotel capacity is 824

guest rooms, 232 suites and it contains of 14 meeting rooms and 11 restaurants.
