In Hip-Hop music and culture flashy/expensive jewellery is often used as a statement of wealth and success. Also rappers often wear expensive jewelry to express having come from a poorer background and the good they have made of themselves.

Cap

These are often warn along with jewellery as Hip-Hop artists are known for wearing not just jewellery but a number of other accessories. Caps have been associated with Hip-Hop from as far back as the 80’s.

Designer Clothing

Similar to the stereotype of expensive jewellery, Hip-Hop artists also tend to wear expensive designer clothing to as previously mentioned to express their wealth and success.

Streeetwear (hoodie)

Although Hip-Hop artists do often wear expensive designer clothing, street wear is a very important feature of the Hip-Hop genre, as Hip-Hop artists like to portray to their fans that although they may have come a long way from their background they are still the same person that gained them their popularity.

Exclusive Trainers

Although trainers are popular throughout Hip-Hop fans, artists usually prefer to get more exclusive trainers that are not as accessible/harder to get to the public. This means that Hip-Hop fans look up to the artists and the shoes that they’re wearing.

Sunglasses

As already mentioned Hip-Hop artists typically wear a large amount of accessories and amongst one of the popular accessories are sunglasses. Now although to many people it may seem strange to wear sunglasses in doors this is not an uncommon occurrence with Hip-Hop artists as they usually wear sunglasses as a fashion statement rather than to protect their eyes.
