Understanding your Property Assessement Change Notice

Every four years, MPAC updates the assessed value of all properties in Ontario. In 2016, MPAC sent each property owner an updated assessment Notice for the 2017 to 2020 tax years. Since we sent your 2016 Notice, MPAC has updated your assessment for one or more of the following reasons:

• There was a change to your property such as an addition, newconstruction or renovation.

• A structure on your property was assessed for the first time.

• There was a change to your property’s classification.

• All or part of your property no longer qualifies as farmland,conservation land or managed forests.

• All or part of your property no longer qualifies to be tax exempt.
