Providing Food for those in need while striving to end hunger in our community.

Our Mission
To inspire, support, educate and empower our children to compassionately give back to our community by collecting donated food for our network of member agencies serving families in the Halton Region.

Our Values & Beliefs
We believe that access to food is a basic human right. We are committed to inspiring our hockey community and young athletes to help respond to the needs of more than 28,000 people who live below the poverty line in Halton.

Food drives strengthen a community.
Within the Burlington hockey community, we have learned that with every shot, there is a chance to reach our goals and make a difference. Together with your partners, associations and volunteers, The Gift of Giving Back can make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate in your community.

How it Works
•Outreach to secure not-for-profit partners (i.e. Salvation Army) and sponsors
•Recruit team leaders to engage teams
•Partner with local grocery stores to collect food
•Plan team events (i.e. door to door solicitation)
•Collect all donated food over two-day period in local High School Gym
• Invite teams to drop-off food and help sort donations together as a team
•Host a kick-off event with local celebrities•Support with grassroots media and public relations
•On-going social media engagement

The Set-up
Partner with local high school to use their gym and accumulate, over a two day period in November, all of the food collected by young athletes.
