    Special Economic Zone

    According with Special Economic Zone Act 2012, Pakistan allows to establish Special EconomicZone on publicPrivate Partnership basis if the applicants owns a minimum land of 50 Acresand complying with technical and infrastructural requirement

    Incentives once granted to an investor could not be withdrawn due to conflict of interests

    Investors from a number of countries were eyeing enactment of law by the parliament to legally

    protect their investments.

    Economic zones would be created on the basis of public-private partnership

    Local investors equally qualify to create special economic zones, and in this connection,chambers of commerce will also be contacted.

    SEZs will enjoy a 10-year exemption from custom duties and taxes for all capital goods importedinto Pakistan for the development, operations and maintenance.

    Exemption from all taxes on income accruable in relation to the development and operations ofthe SEZs will start from the date of signing of the development agreement.
