2) Overview of Existing Infrastructure
The school does not have a BWSSB connection and the nearby bore well is the only source, it is yielding sufficiently, but is only available when there is power to run the pump. The bore well water is used for drinking as well as washing utensils.
When power is available the containers are filled up using the activity room supply. The school consumes 400 litres a day out of which 120 litres is consumed and the rest is used to wash utensils.

The terrace surface has recently received a fresh layer of concrete with the slope being directed towards the rear. The openings for rainwater down pipes have been provided as well.
Assuming 970mm of rainfall annually and 30mm as average rainfall event, the total rainwater harvested by the 1650 square foot terrace, works out to about 1.48 lakh litres and 4600 litres respectively.
