    INTRODUCTION

    Architecture in the Philippines

has always been unique. It is the

reflection of the history which the

    country has gone through.

But the question is: what is thefuture of Filipino Architecture? The

    answer seems terrifying as slums

    sprawl endlessly, identical skyscrapers

rise up monthly, and every single

housing project is inspired by foreign

styles. What future can we expect from

an uncontrolled growth of the small,

the ugly, and the foreign? (Blasco,

    2012)

Ar. Philip H. Recto at the UAP World

Day of Architecture 2012 said that

the city of Manila still followed an oldurban plan made almost 80 years

ago and warned that it is bound to

fall into urban decay as people will

just keep moving farther away from

    the decaying city.

    STATEMENT OF THE

    PROBLEM

In the constantly modernizing world, the

    Filipino identity in architecture is vanishing;

Filipinos see identity in aesthetic outputs. Theyshould think about our future. What is Filipino

Architecture? Filipino architects should build an

identity when it comes to international projects.

    Philippine architecture can still improve.

    SIGNIFICANCE OF THE

STUDYThrough this research, students will become

aware of the status of Filipino architecture globally.Hopefully, the study will provide some insights andinformation on how a platform for the exchange of

knowledge with architects and students can developan integrated set of skills with which to acteffectively in the Philippines or globally.

The study can also be a learning paradigm forarchitecture students to enhance their knowledge inspace programming of school, research center, library, and cafeteria.

    SCOPE AND LIMITATION

This study is focused on the Architectural Design Processesof an institute dedicated to the research and enrichment ofskills, talents, and capabilities of Filipino architects.

The study does not include surveys and data related toArchitects and architecture students such as population dueto lack of time and UAPs inability to provide documents theresearcher needs.

The proposal is limited to the given functions of the scope,

methods, and resources used in research. In addition, theextent and details of the study are also limited by theavailability of resources such as manpower, time, finances, and documents.

    SUMMARY

As said, students will become aware of the status of

Filipino architecture globally. The study provided insights and

information on how a platform for the exchange of knowledgewith architects and students can develop an integrated set of

skills with which to act effectively in the Philippines or globally.

The study is a learning paradigm for architecture

students to enhance their knowledge in space programming of

school, research center, library, and cafeteria. Through Site

Criterion, students will learn how to identify the most suitable site

for the Proposed Cavite Institute of Research, Design and

    Advanced Architecture.

  • 7/28/2019 Proposed Cavite Institute of Research, Design,

    28/30

    CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the most suited Site for the Proposed

Cavite Institute of Research, Design and Advanced-

Architecture through the analysis from Site Criterion

and Possible Site Comparisons is the Site C.

The most suited spaces for the Proposed Institute for

    each building are identified.

The proper orientation of the buildings is identified tomaximize sustainability.

And lastly, the right area for spaces for each structure

are identified and their relationships to each other.

  • 7/28/2019 Proposed Cavite Institute of Research, Design,

    29/30

    RECOMMENDATIONS

In selecting the most suited site:

Area should be with-in the target area of users and

have the easiest access to transportation Site should be in proximity to commercial, hospitals,

and business, industrial and other establishments.

Site should be adjacent to Main Roads

Site should provide good condition for studying and

    research

Noise status should not be a hindrance for the

students in the school and research center

  • 7/28/2019 Proposed Cavite Institute of Research, Design,

    30/30

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    In Spatial Analysis:

The spaces should be identified for users satisfaction.

The minimun space allocation for each user must beidentified through the National Building Code.
