•Mankind first started using copper for domestic implements during the “Chalcolithic ” period (8000 B.C. to 4000 B.C.) – the transitional period from the Stone Age to the Metal Age.

• Image of copper has undergone considerable transformation from a Traditional Metal of Artisans in ancient days to a Metal of Strategic Importance essential for development of any country.
