LibraryThe college library provides access to multi disciplinary informatics in print and digital formats. Library is being continuously improved to provide valuable learning and research tools. It regularly subscribes to a number of national and international journals and magazines. Its premises create ambiance of an intellectual sanctuary wherein the students can concentrate on their studies. The library also fulfils the teaching and research needs of college faculty.
The campus consists of well equipped and state-of-the-art lecture rooms for each department, Anatomy dissection hall, tutorial rooms, laboratories, library, computer lab, auditorium, cafeteria, book shop, sports complex and a spacious parking area.
CMH Lahore Medical College was established in the year 2006. It is located near the premises of Combined Military Hospital Lahore in the secure and serene environment of Lahore Cantonment. The College occupies a total area of about 12 acres.
Inauguration of the New Campus was held on 16 January 2010 by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The new campus is a purpose built building, which is one of the most beautiful structures in the metropolitan city. It is a fine blend of architecture, accessibility and comfort.

If the medium of instruction two years prior to application for admission/entry test is not English the
candidate will be required to present a valid TOEFL or IELTS with a minimum score of 500 or 5.5 respectively.
F.Sc. / qualification equivalent to F.Sc. from a foreign university or foreign education system with three science subjects out of which Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects with a minimum of 660/1100 i.e. 60% marks in aggregate (without marks of NCC or Hifz-e-Quran). The third subject can either be Physics or Mathematics. The equivalence of IBCC will be required for foreign certifications.
There is no minimum or maximum age limit for admission in MBBS/BDS Course. Due to the peculiar nature and demand of the profession a candidate should possess adequate mental and physical health.
NUMS Entry Test The affiliated university for Admission Session 2018-19 will be National
University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Rawalpindi. NUMS entry test will be conducted by
NTS. NUMS Entry Test will be held on 18 Nov 2018 for admission in CMH Lahore Medical
College and Institute of Dentistry as a local candidate. Entry Tests other than NUMS are also
acceptable for admission.
SAT-II Exam Valid SAT-II Exam scores can be utilized for merit calculation for foreign seats.
SAT-II examination is acceptable with minimum 550 marks in each of the three subjects of
which two have to be Biology and Chemistry, the third subject can be either Physics or
Mathematics.
The validity of NUMS entry test is 1x year, hence the NUMS entry test undertaken only
during the admission year is acceptable. However, the SAT-II score are valid for 2 x years.
Admission will be strictly on merit.
Ineligibility A student, who has availed four chances to clear the first and second professional
MBBS / first Professional BDS exam and has been expelled on that account, shall NOT be
eligible for continuation of medical / dental studies and shall NOT be eligible for fresh admission.
Any student having incomplete results / academic documents on the closing date for admission
application will not be considered for admission.
The complete admission process shall be taken care by National University of Medical
Sciences (NUMS).

Admission of the selected students will be confirmed only after they have deposited the college admission, tuition and other fees as prescribed within specific days of announcement of the result by college. If a seat is not confirmed by due date, it will be offered to the next candidate on the merit list. Once a student is admitted in the college, his Matric, F.Sc, and other certificates will be verified from respective board by NUMS. If the documents are found incorrect, the admission will be cancelled and the fees/ dues will not be refunded. In case of students with same merit position, preference will be given to the student who will be older in age.

Filling the Application Form
Once the student is registered by the university in a category of local / foreign student MBBS/BDS, the category cannot be changed throughout the course.
Note: The college administration reserves the rights of admission and can cancel / reject any application at any stage without assigning any reason.
No amendment in the results/ data entered will be accepted after the last date of submission of application. Results received after the closing date of submission of application will not be entertained.
The applicant/guardian will be required to sign a “Declaration” confirming that the information
provided in the Application Form by him / her is correct.
The name of the student and father's name should be the same on all important documents and it
should be the one that has been endorsed on matric / O-level certificate. If different names (different spellings, shorter versions etc) are endorsed, problems crop up when students register for different exams / tests. If there is a discrepancy in the student's personal details (particularly their names) it creates great difficulties for the students. Ensure that the name on student's passport is the same as they have in their school record and the same name they will use for applying to different universities.

Refund Policy College follows the policy which is given by the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS)/PM&DC for refund of admission and tuition dues to the students, and is subject to change as per the directions of National University of Medical Sciences and PM&DC.
All hostilities are required to deposit refundable hostel security amounting to Rs. 20,000/- (Twenty thousand only) before joining. The security will be refunded after clearance.

Code of ConductAll students are advised to read the rules carefully and abide by these rules as envisaged in the prospectus, college notification and their modifications as and when issued. Violations of these rules tantamount to breach of college discipline. The case will be investigated by senior members of the staff and will be forwarded to the college Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and its recommendations will be forwarded to the Principal for further necessary action.
General Rules
• The students must wear their identification cards on a lanyard at all times while in the college premises and hospital.
• All students must maintain the decorum of the college through decent and respectable behavior. Students are forbidden to sing, whistle, hoot, create noise, use abusive language, fight and indulge in any unseemly behavior, politics or activity in the college premises at any time.• No student is allowed to loiter and move aimlessly in and around college premises or waste his/ her time in college cafeteria extensively.• Students have to be present in time, at any specified activity of the college.• Student’s notices/ messages will only be displayed on the notice board placed by the college authorities

Moral and EthicsThe students must essentially display the highest moral and ethical standards at the college, hospital andhostels with conduct par excellence.
College and Government PropertyThe care and safety of all the property used by students will be ensured by themselves by preventing anywillful damage, loss or theft. All damages in any form caused by the students due to their negligence or deliberate act shall be repaired at the expense of the student/ students responsible for the negligence. Walls, fixtures, furniture, models, specimens, charts, skeletal bones, audiovisual teaching aids, notice boards etc. shall not be defaced, mutilated or damaged in any way or form.
Dress CodeThe wearing of prescribed uniform has peculiar importance in medical profession and all students must take pride in their identity. Any student found improperly dressed will be marked absent for the whole day. A habitual defaulter in this regard will be dealt with appropriate disciplinary action.

This will be strictly enforced.• The margin of 20% of absence in lectures, practicals, tutorials, demonstrations and clinical wards
is desired to cover absence only on account of sickness or any emergency if considered justifiable by the Principal.
• Repeated absence from lectures, practicals, tutorials, demonstrations and hospital clinical wards, without any justified reasons, will make a student liable for punishment.• The students must periodically check their attendance record from concerned departments.• For leave or absence, the students must apply in writing and get it countersigned by all HODs
before submitting at the Principal office. The reasons for his/her request should be clearly mentioned. In all cases, leave taken will be at the student’s own risk as far as the percentage of the attendance is concerned; even the medical certificate will not condone for any deficiency in attendance.
The Attendance should be 100% in all lectures / practicals / clinical sessions. As per requirements of NUMS/UHS & PMDC, a minimum attendance of 80% is MANDATORY “individually” in each subject being taught in that year (in lectures / practicals / clinical sessions), in order to qualify for appearing in NUMS / UHS annual exam.

Academic Performance Assessment
Class/ Ward DisciplineTeachers and students maintain a highly professional interaction in the academic sessions which is a very distinct feature of the college, and the same has to be continued at all times. Students must switch off their cell phones before they enter the lecture room, laboratory, library and wards. Punctuality regarding class/ ward timings and maintenance of proper discipline in the classrooms, practicals, demonstrations, tutorials and ward is mandatory.
Peaceful EnvironmentThe maintenance of a safe and secure environment in the campus, hospital and hostels has immenseimportance in a professional institute. The college accords the highest priority to this vital aspect.
Attaining of 50% marks individually in each subject in Class tests / Module test / Mid term / Final term / Pre-Annual examination is MANDATORY. A student can be dropped from appearing in University Exam by the Principal on account of poor academic performance.

Correct Attitude & BehaviourThe students are completely facilitated to devote themselves in their professional studies and expected to shun unwanted societal trends. The possession and use of weapons and substances of abuse, keeping of objectionable materials or pets and smoking etc are totally forbidden in the campus, hospital and hostels.
Examination • Textbooks, notes and cellular phones are not allowed in the examination hall.• Any student coming 10 minutes after the start of the paper will not be allowed to take the examination.• NUMS Professional Examination Admission form will be processed only after the clearance from Accounts and Finance Department.
Use of Unfair Means In College & University ExaminationsAny student involved in using unfair means / impersonation will be liable for disciplinary action which may tantamount to expulsion / cessation of all academic activities as per rules of National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Rawalpindi / University of Health Sciences Lahore / PM & DC.

Politics and Religion• Political activities of all types are prohibited in the college and hostel premises. Involvement
of the students in any sort of political, sectarian, ethnic and other such activities in campus, hospital and hostels is viewed with zero tolerance by the college administration. Undertaking to that effect will be obtained from the students and their parents.
• No political and objectionable gathering and meetings of students will be allowed in the premises of college and hostels.
• No religious ceremony likely to hurt the feelings of other students/ boarders shall be performed in the hostel.
• No student should address any conference including press conference, nor write to the press, electric, social media on a political or related subject or matter concerned directly with the administration of the college or any government or educational institution, university etc in Pakistan or abroad.
Law and SecurityThe laws of the country and the common rules about security of information, men and materials regarding Armed Forces will be strictly followed by the students. The security officer of college and hospital will be apprising the students on need basis.
Liaison with Parents / GuardiansParents / guardians will be kept informed of the academic performance of the students on regular basis. However, ensuring correctness of correspondence address and contact details of parents is the responsibility of students / parents / guardians.
Hostel DisciplineOur excellent hostel buildings equipped with the modern facilities have been recently constructed toensure a student-friendly environment with comfortable living standards. The hostelites are expected to enjoy their stay without any distraction and disturbance. Hostel wardens facilitate maintenance of a congenial environment in a disciplined manner.

Hostel Rules
• Every student shall be in his/ her room at 08:00 p.m. in the summer and in the winter except those who are on official duty in hospital. These timings are subject to change if so required by the administration.
• Boarders are prohibited from leaving the hostel after the above mentioned time. Any boarder, who wishes to stay out after this time, shall take prior permission from the warden.
Late comers in the hostel will first report to the warden of their hostel before proceeding to their rooms.
• The Students must keep their rooms in hostel neat, clean and tidy.• College is not responsible for loss of any property, valuables and jewellery etc. of the boarders.• No females are allowed to visit or stay in boy’s hostel and vice versa.• Parents of female students will provide photograph and photocopy of the National I d entity cards
of three visitors nominated by them to the college authorities who are authorized to visit their daughter at the hostel.
• In dealing with any breach of discipline / infringement of rules and regulations mentioned above, the Principal may decide to order appropriate penalty including apology (verbal or written), fine, temporary suspension from the college, removal from the hostel or after due concurrence of College Discipline Committee/ Academic Council expulsion from the college and rustication.
• Use of unauthorized electrical items like electric heaters / blowers, electric kettle, microwave / electric oven / electric iron can result in short circuiting, hence are strictly forbidden to be used in hostel rooms.
• Parents/ guardians are expected to cooperate with the authorities of the college by prevailing upon and motivating their wards not to take part in any antisocial activities.
Note: Infringement of these rules is a serious offence.
Disciplinary Committee The college Disciplinary Committee keeps effective watch over maintenance of discipline and enforces the code of conduct in routine daily matters. A team nominated by the Principal, will comprise thecommittee. In cases of any breach of discipline, the decision taken by the Principal will be final and can’t be challenged. The committee will meet on quarterly / required basis.

Formerly, Dr. Juniad Sarfraz Khan served as the Pro-Vice Chancellor at the

The Anatomy Department has a fully equipped with Computer based teaching & learning well ventilated and spacious Dissection Hall with mortuary plant for storage of cadavers. Since 1975, he has taught physiology to both the undergraduate and post graduate medical sciences disciplines, in different capacities, at different prestigious institutions of Pakistan and aboard. His main areas of interest have been neuromuscular and cardiovascular Physiology.

President Gold Medal for the Best University Researcher Award of NUST 3. Best scientist of the year Gold Medal by Pak Academy of Sciences in Medical Sciences and Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military. He is presently working as Principal, Chief Executive Officer & Prof of Biochemistry of CMH Lahore Medical College and Institute of Dentistry since Dec 2017.
He is a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons BMS Faculty since 2016 to date. He had the honour of holding the post of Dean of Army Medical College, NUST for 7 years and Riphah International University for 3 years and remained a member of PMDC from 2010 to 2017. Presently he is also Chairman Technical Advisory committee of Pakistan Medical Research council from 2015 to date. He has numerous National & International publications and so far supervised training of 42 M Phil, 13 FCPS and 13 Ph.D post graduates in the subject of Biochemistry.
He graduated from Nishtar Medical College in 1981 and served in Pakistan Armed Forces for 33 Years and retired as Maj Gen in 2014. He had been teaching the subject of Biochemistry in Army Medical College Rawalpindi since 1984. Achieved M. Phil in 1988, Doctorate in 1999, FCPS Chemical Pathology in 2002 , FNAMS in 2003 and FRCP in 2007.

Hand & Upper Limb Surgery (HULS) CentreTeaching Hospital of CMH Lahore Medical College
HULS deals with medical & surgical problems affecting the hand & upper limb, including hand & upper limb injuries (soft tissues, bony, and joints), arthritic hand & upper limb diseases, paralytic problems, tumors, arthroplasties and nerve injuries including brachial plexus injuries.
This centre is a referral institute and receives cases from all CMHs, Naval, PAF and Civil hospitals. This centre is renowned for its research activities. Apart from invention of artificial ulna, the electric hand (shulja), invention of HULS centre was awarded 1st prize ($6000) in international hand surgery conference at Hong Kong in 2012. Apart from clinical training HULS Centre inculcates aptitude of research in the medical students visiting HULS during clinical rotations.

Department of Medicine is the major department of Combined Military Hospital and CMH Lahore Medical College. It is a highly specialized department and is the hub of clinical and educational activities. The Department of Dermatology is a state of the art tertiary care providing department. It consists of an out patient Department and 20 bed indoor unit. The department provides services of cryotherapy, electrocautery, chemical peeling, photodynamic, PUVA, NBUVB therapy, IPL, CO2 and NDYAG Laser. Diagnostic histopathology is done with collaboration with histopathology department of CMH Lahore. The Department is fully accredited by CPSP for both FCPS and MCPS and at present 10 students are undergoing post graduate training. The department of Dermatology CMH Lahore Medical College regularly organizes biannual 2 week prolong National Dermatology Preparatory Courses for post graduate students to prepare them for practical Examination of CPSP and till date have organized 23 courses in which more than 800 Dermatologists from all over the country have participated and benefitted.

The department is headed by Brig ® Rehan Uddin who is one of pioneer fellows in the field of Dermatology in Pakistan. He is supervisor and Examiner of CPSP since 1998 and also remained faculty member of CPSP. He did his Masters in Health Professional Education from CPSP in 2014. He has the honor of training more than 70 post graduates members and fellows in Dermatology
while serving as Head of Department of Dermatology in CMH's of Multan, Sialkot, Quetta, Lahore and PNS SHIFA Karachi. He initiated National Dermatology Preparatory Courses in 2005 and till date he is organizing them regularly biannually. He is also holding the portfolio of Director of Medical Education Department and Director of Faculty Development, Research and Evaluation Department.

I undertake to abide by the “Code of Conduct” of CMH Lahore Medical College and other rules,
regulation and instructions issued by the administration from time to time. Moreover I declare that I have been
informed that:-
I have to ensure at least 80% attendance “Individually” in each subject being taught in that year (in
lectures / practicals / clinical sessions) and 50% marks in the class tests / send up examination;
otherwise the college administration may not allow me to appear in the university examination. The
attendance of subjects not being examined in the same year will “also be carried forward till the year
of examination of that subject and will be included in minimum 80%” attendance calculation for
being eligible to appear in university annual examination.
I have read over and understood the college refund policy.
If I get detained in the previous class, I will pay 100% annual fee (Tuition and other charges) for the
existing class irrespective of the No of failed subjects. .
Any type of leave, including medical leave, granted to me during the course of studies will not condone
a deficiency in attendance.
The college administration can take any disciplinary action, including expulsion from the college, on
violation of discipline and in such cases the decision of the principal will be final.
I am not suffering from any physical or mental illness.
I have adequate financial resources to support my studies at the college. I fully understand that fee,
once paid will be refundable as per PM&DC regulations, where applicable, I will not object to any additional
charges levied in the future by the Government, University or College.
I, solemnly declare that I have not been expelled from any medical college for any reason what so ever
and I have not been disqualified on completion of admissible chances to appear in 1st professional MBBS / BDS
from any Medical / Dental College of Pakistan.
I hereby solemnly declare that I have not been convicted by any court of law nor I am under trial in any
where in Pakistan / Abroad.
