Description

Water and wastewater treatment plant and system operators manage a system of

machines, often through use of control boards, to transfer or treat water or waste

water. Wastewater treatment plant operators’ control, monitor, and maintain the

equipment and treatment processes in wastewater(sewage) treatment plants. They

remove or neutralize the chemicals, solid materials and organisms in wastewater so

that the water is not polluted when it is returned to the environment. Wastewater

treatment plant operators run the equipment and control the processes that clean

treat water and water waste at treatment plants.

Description

Electrical engineering is often associated with power generation and distribution

of power. Power generation involves the generation of electrical power from a

important to do stock taking at least once a month. It helps you

keep track of how much of goods that you have sent out and

how much remains in your warehouse. This qualification

enables a learner to understand the basic stock taking systems

in a warehouse, retail or any other business where stock is kept.

This qualification will enable the learner to gain knowledge of the following:

• To reconcile physical stock to the inventory records, highlight variances, and identify issues with stock

management and control.

• Accurate knowledge about stock movements and stock on hand

• labels to shelves to clearly identify different stock

• Application of stock taking tools such as calculators, handheld scanners etc.

• Know the ordering cycle.

The Basic Course in Computer Literacy provides you with an introduction to essential computer skills as an

general to develop practical skills in the use of these software packages. During the course, you will develop

Course duration: 3 Weeks

The focus in Foundational Communication is on developing reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that will

enable the learner to function optimally in the workplace, to enable the learner to deal with further learning and to

access occupational training materials and related assessments.

The focus in Foundational Mathematical Literacy is for the leaners to:

• understand the value of quantitative information

• conceptualize problems

• organize and interpret data in useful ways i.e. data analysis, advanced arithmetic, risk analysis (probability and

statistics), and financial mathematics

Foundational Learning Competence (FLC) is a part qualification that consists of two learning

areas: Communication and Mathematical Literacy. It outlines the minimum level of competence required for

optimal functioning in the world of work and for occupational learning at NQF Levels 2-4.

It is a part qualification registered at NQF Level 2 and carries 40 credits in total. Each learning area carries 20credits.

The FLC is directed at learners in occupational qualifications registered on the NQF at Level 2, 3 and 4. It is a

compulsory component for all new qualifications developed by the Quality Council for trades and occupations

(QCTO) at NQF levels 3 and 4. This applies to learners who do not have English and Mathematical Literacy at NQF
